IN GOD’S FAVOR

The stuff you have to deal with in life is the commonality and the humanity of life. All can relate to the issues of life. They’re like the Facts of Life, literally. I can recall one time I was home visiting from South Carolina State University. As I was leaving, my mother just so happened to give me some traveling money. It was about $90 or $100—just some pocket money for safe traveling, gas, and whatnots.

As I was driving back in my Chrysler LeBaron Station Wagon, I forget what year it was, maybe 79 or so, my radiator began to leak! I’d say I was just about between Charlottesville, VA, and Roanoke, VA, when I decided to pull over and see about some repairs as I thought to myself, Thank GOD my mother gave me some money to travel with... The gift covered the amount of the bill. The brother worked with me as I slinked through the unfamiliar town to find this out of the way repair shop just off of I95. After an assessment and determination that he didn’t have the proper part or the time to order or find it before the day fall, he offered to allow me to stay overnight on his property. He would search for a makeshift radiator part from one of his other vehicles lying around. Of course, I agreed, having little choice but definitely feeling grateful for the Grace of GOD and the Good Gift from My Mother. I guess she had some foresight there, (lol), and I was thankful
