About this ebook

Get This In Your Spirit is a Philosophical Faith-filled conversation with America. It offers deeper meaning on why some of us are prone to have conversations more so than others with total strangers. As well as delves into all sides both provocative and popular issues such as politics, sports, science and religion. Get This In The Spirit provides the structure of conversations and debates, as well as shows how to interpret Gods expository word. What this book is not is “just another religion book”. It delves into profoundly serious issues that have affected the church and society for several years that until now people have been either too afraid to, or not able to have a conversation about. Get This In Your Spirit explains opinions and views from unique perspectives and emphasizes how God views these issues.

    Introduction

    A PHILOSOPHICAL FAITH-FILLED

    CONVERSATION WITH AMERICA

    Chapter 1

    SIFTED TO BE SHIFTED

True confession: This book was initially intended to be completed and published in 2020. It was to a project for me as my beautiful wife Dee was deployed and we were in the grips of a pandemic and lockdown because of COVID-19. It gave me a release and a positive outlet to organize my thoughts and prepare for sermons, but with the culmination of one of the most contentious and spirited elections in our nation’s history, I deemed it next to impossible not to let everything play out as a living testimony and let God reveal himself even more in the spirit so we can pick up with our literal senses what has been placed before us. This book, Get This in Your Spirit, is named to pierce several layers of consciousness and various depths of development, regardless of where you are spiritually, your status, your position, or your maturity. It’s meant to cover everything, from the very literal connotation of picking the book up with your hand to gathering deep philosophical and biblical wisdom for life and its many instances of seemingly uncertain circumstances sparked by the snap of a finger and begging the command Get this in your spirit. Most importantly, as God has saw fit to give me an anointing to study his word, formulate, and exegete chapters and verses. See them from a twenty-thousand-foot view and give it to his flock in a palatable yet effective way. I hope it is received in your spirit as it relates to how events, circumstances, and situations fit in your lives. One such instance is in the book of Luke 22:31. The Lord Jesus says, Peter Simon, Simon the Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat. In my studies of the Hebrew culture of the biblical times, the sifting process was not as tranquil as we think of it today. But it was more of an arduous agitation, violent in its nature, often involving an instrument resembling the size and shape of a banjo guitar where wheat was shaken and banged. The process was designed to get rid of that which was unpurified or having no substantive value called chaff. So that which was left was clearly counted as grain wheat. Spiritually, Satan continues to do this daily in all our lives. And this has been played out as a country during the past years
