What’s all the excitement about?
Jenny asked as she walked up to the fireman standing on the sidewalk, his back towards her. She could see smoke rising up from the house across the street from her apartment complex, but there didn’t appear to be any visible flames. A couple more firemen had just gone inside the home with a hose, while two others were hauling some equipment to the porch, leaving this guy by himself.
The fireman turned around and Jenny was immediately mesmerized by his liquid blue eyes and his blond hair, both of which were very similar to her own. It appears to be a kitchen fire, so it shouldn’t be anything too serious,
he said, looking straight at Jenny, who found herself suddenly blushing.
So why aren’t you over there helping them out?
Jenny asked with a smile.
I’m just a trainee, so for now I’m responsible for keeping people back out of the way,
he said, pointing to a patch on his left chest that said Trainee
