Rod Martin, Jr

Rod Martin, Jr. was born in West Texas, United States. He has been a Hollywood artist, a software engineer with a degree summa cum laude, a writer, web designer and a college professor. Rod Martin's interests have ranged from astronomy to ancient history, physics to geology, and graphics arts to motion pictures. He has studied comparative religion, worked as a lay minister and spiritual counselor, and taught ethics in college. While doing graphic arts in Hollywood, he also studied electronic engineering. In 1983, as Carl Martin, he published his first novel, "Touch the Stars: Emergence," co-authored by John Dalmas (Tor Books, NY). He continues to write science fiction under that pen name. Later, switching careers to computers and information technology, Mr. Martin worked for Control Data, Ceridian Payroll, Bank of America, Global Database Marketing and IPRO Tech. He also created "Stars in the NeighborHood" 3D astronomy space software. He currently resides in the Philippines with his wife, Juvy. He has taught information technology, mathematics and professional ethics at Benedicto College, in Cebu. He continues to teach online and to write books and blogs.

Preface

Writing this book is the culmination of 68 years of study, thought and practice on the Law of Attraction.

Though my interests have encompassed a great many topics, none has more thoroughly captured my attention than the art found in this Law. Indeed, it is an art, but also a science.

It takes subtle skill to make the most of the Law of Attraction, but like any natural phenomenon, the Law of Attraction involves very precise elements that can be tested and replicated. The Law of Attraction, like all natural law, is subject to careful study through the scientific method. This fact alone should set the reader’s mind at ease. This is quite encouraging. But our modern culture is rife with half-truths and confusion. These make it more difficult to make the most of this Law of Attraction, until those half-truths are revealed and the confusion dispelled.

My most recent book—The Logical Christian—discussed many of these darker topics in greater detail. When finished with that work, I realized that something was missing from the instruction given for this Law of Attraction. Thus, I felt it was time to fill the gap found in so many other discussions of this fundamental principle.

The Law of Attraction is a most beautiful simplicity, bristling with unbelievable power. The intention behind writing this small book is to introduce the reader to the steps and logical foundation for this natural phenomenon. However, unlike some other works, we will focus primarily on the step-by-step, practical applications of the Law of Attraction, as well as the PLUS that sets the Law of Attraction loose in your life—free to do the maximum possible good.

Nothing thrills me more than to see others succeed. And everyone can succeed. There is no scarcity except that created by those who love for others to fail. We won’t go there; we will leave such things far behind us. Our sights are pointed in an entirely different direction: Abundance—wealth, vibrant health, plenty of romance, a comfortable lifestyle and spiritual self-fulfillment.

This is the first day of the rest of your life, and my intention is to add so much value to your life that your abundance will spill over into the lives of countless others. Such success will benefit everyone. This is how civilization was created—by adding value—fearlessly and with a deep, unconditional love of others.

However, this work can be helpful to the intermediate and advanced student of the Law of Attraction by adding a unique—perhaps even new—perspective on this fundamental principle.

Any serious student of any subject will want to learn every possible distinction on their topic of interest. The best attitude in life includes the notion of being a perpetual student, for there is always more to learn.

The Nature of Attraction

The Law of Attraction is not merely a magnet for the things we desire—moving an object from one place on Earth to our current location. This fundamental law can be used to change conditions or objects to suit our needs. And the Law can be used to create entirely new objects or conditions which fulfill our needs far better than any existing thing. After all, prosperity is ultimately created by adding value to the world. The most powerful use of the Law of Attraction is thus an act of giving rather than receiving. How this can satisfy you on a deeply instinctive level is part of the beauty of the Law of Attraction.

And this is good news. The Law of Attraction uses a universal intelligence to meet your requirements. While you need to be precise in the request you make, the Law of Attraction will bring to you everything you need, even if the ultimate thing you require has not yet been invented.

In addition, the principles of this Law can be used to dismiss the negative things in your life so that they no longer bother you or stand in your way. With this skill comes the ability to face all negative things with poise and patience, but without becoming victim to them. Instead, even the negative things in life add to your forward momentum.

Objective

The primary objective with this book is to teach you how to maximize your use of the Law of Attraction—with heavy emphasis on the word use. This sense of utility should be the primary focus in all education. Sadly, it isn’t. And though this fact seems entirely negative, and a downer, there is a silver lining to be found within it.

While teaching college algebra to freshman students, I became critically aware of a flaw in the educational system. Though I’d had hints of this problem throughout the years, this crisis became vividly clear to me when one student remarked, in deeply emotional frustration, that their current professor was not using the same approach that they had learned in high school. What I had been teaching that individual student was confusing to them!

When teachers present their subjects by mindless rote, those teachers create robots instead of world builders. All teachers should know how to draw out from their students a demonstration of the individual’s deep understanding for the topic being presented. Students should understand their subject so thoroughly that they can create with it. No more should we accept students barely passing and then forgetting a subject after the final test is done.

If a subject is not relevant, then it should never be taught. If it is relevant, then that relevance should be made abundantly clear to the student. Can calculus be made relevant to the art student? Can history be made relevant to the student of computer science? Indeed, they can, but it takes a far deeper understanding of those topics in order to accomplish that connection. The teaching of those topics will need a different approach to those different audiences, but the relevance can make each student the well rounded individual the current system promises but doesn’t deliver.

Do you see the disconnect found so often in the current educational system? Well rounded does not mean broken! It doesn’t mean mysterious and obscure, either. And the current educational system is horribly broken. Yet, it can be fixed. Thousands of talented people are working on this, largely outside of the public school system. And one of
