Help!
I Think My Partner is Trying to Kill ME
by Old Dad; New Tricks
'Help! I think my partner is trying to kill me,' were the words said to me by a well known lawyer. They were a legal badass wrestling with powerful people yet frozen in shock, locked in a bathroom, afraid and unable to see their kids. Each red flag was worse than the last, his partner was consolidating power over their finances, isolating them and establishing a narrative while distracting by playing on deep fears of losing contact with their kids. The way out was hard but they took the first step; realizing they are a smart person in a shitty situation. It happens to the best of us. Odds are your partner picked you because you are smart, high functioning, have high empathy and strive for good. Reconnect and ground with those amazing parts of yourself.
