IMG_0545.jpgFOREWORD
I spent much of my early years asking everyone I could one simple question "What is the meaning of life? It’s fascinating to witness the many different reactions to that question. Some shrug their shoulders, some said it was to be happy but they were not happy. For others it was to be healthy but they did not appear to be thriving in good health. For others it was about connecting to others or themselves or something that gave them more meaning.
I remember first meeting Yvette. she was looking to be happier, healthier and more connected to her Highest Calling or purpose in life. She was really devoted to the transformational process I lay out for her and before long she unlocked her deep passion and started a new business centred around a great love of her life, flowers. Yvette presented to 50 participants at my retreat centre and inspired them with great depth and wisdom as to how to be happier , healthier and more connected utilising flowers. Now she has extended her reach to help others by putting into words that which now radiates from her person. I had to put this book down at an early stage of the reading, to venture out onto the property and collect the spring flowers arrange them and place them strategically so that others could come alive
. Yvette has captured the words and activities that will provide you, the reader, with more meaning to this life. In doing so she shows me another answer to my question.
Thank you.

PREFACE
Feed Your Soul With Flowers is for anyone who wants to understand the therapeutic benefits of flowers and is looking to heal themselves emotionally, using flowers as a medium. I recognise that it’s a big call to suggest you can heal yourself with the help of flowers, and in the past I may have rejected the suggestion too. But believe me when I say that by practising the principles within this book, not only can you alleviate the pain from the past, you can equip yourself for future pitfalls or setbacks. It may not be the book itself nor the flowers that completely heal your emotional pain, but it could just become the instigator that inspires you to look further. To dig deep enough to uncover the stems and rip out the roots of any angst or sorrow you nurture a home for within you.
If you are close-minded, comfortable staying in your pain that’s been disguised as a comfort zone, or are unwilling to give up continuously complaining about past hurts, this book may be challenging for you. But if you are ready to change these things, read on.
Like anything in life, this book is what you make of it. You get back what you put in. I find that with any course, book or podcast I consume, the first time I only take in one level of information. The next time I listen, watch or read, I enter into a new level of learning and discover new chunks of information I could have sworn were not there the first time around. I’m told––and I believe this to be true––that each time we consume information we are only able to take in what we are ready to receive. With this in mind, it’s my suggestion to read this book more than once. The exercises within it can be used an endless amount of times. In fact I was just about finished with this book and about to send it to the publishers when I was overcome with all kinds of new stresses. But I was able to turn back to the ten core principles contained in this book. These principles will support you and act as guides to uncovering the lessons within your pain. Don’t rush it though, some things need time to rise to the surface before they are able to be detached from neighbouring issues or circumstances. When they haven’t had the time to fully surface, they can muddy the water and often appear greater than they really are. Small pieces of sediment are often the cause, yet once fused together they can seem larger, darker, and way more scary.
In addition to reading, this book is the act of doing––taking action and creating something beautiful. Because of this, the full power of your growth is unknown and infinite.
So what do I mean by a therapy in bloom?
A therapy in bloom is the perfect dose of relaxation and rejuvenation. It is a blend of meditation and flower arranging. Unleashing inner creativity, connection with nature and connection with oneself through the art of flower arranging. I envisage a world where people consider flowers an essential element to their self-fulfilment. The positive energy of flowers is food for our souls. My mission is to share the positive benefits of flowers along with the practice of arranging them to all who are ready to receive them.
So while flowers cannot solve the world’s problems, I believe that more joy in people’s lives can go a long way. I hope through this book that I will be able to inspire more people to incorporate flowers into their daily lives, and in doing so, bring in more joy.
You are more free than you think. You may not always be free to walk out your door when you choose, but you can be free in your mind and your heart. You can be untouchable and unshakable in your spirit and working with flowers can help you to do just that. It would be my pleasure to show you how.
In this book we will cover ten principles for helping to heal emotional pain. These are:
Chapter 1 –– Acceptance
Chapter 2 –– Forgiveness
Chapter 3 –– Connection
Chapter 4 –– Love
Chapter 5 –– Gratitude
Chapter 6 –– Contribution
Chapter 7 –– Vision
Chapter 8 –– Alignment
Chapter 9 –– Courage
Chapter 10 –– Purpose
In each chapter we will address the following questions:
Acceptance: What event occurred that I need to accept?
Forgiveness: Who do I need to forgive?
Connection: What does the event allow me to connect to?
Love: Who do I need to love and how can I personally experience or give more of it?
Gratitude: Who or what do I need to be thankful for?
Contribution: Who or what can I contribute to?
Vision: What new vision do I hold for myself?
Alignment: What can I align myself with to stay on course?
Courage: What courage do I need to employ?
Purpose: How do I know what my purpose is?

I really love flowers. I’ve loved them since I can remember. When I was in prep school I used to get in trouble for picking them from the garden. It is a real joy to pick them and I’m sure the universe, God, or whichever higher power you believe in, created them for us to admire their beauty. Flowers are
