About this ebook

Dedicated to her two younger sisters, in this volume of poems (And lies), Pixie Prince, the alter ego of TL Banks shares exploits and dirty admissions about the never-ending, fantastic, yet failed, pseudo-imaginary relationships (which would these days be called situationships and entanglements) Ms. Prince has had over the years in TL's body. The poetic musings are dramatic, touching, exciting, and painful and both sides of the author needed to express it as it happened not only for catharsis but as a warning to all others exploring themselves and love and life- you are NOT in control. As TL would say on Pixie's behalf, " Do not let it deter you. And do not avoid it." These poems were for her sisters to help them avoid the same pitfalls and maybe, just maybe, another hopelessly romantic reader, might learn a little more about themselves through these words as well.

TL Banks

Hello, Poetry lovers and Pixie Prince fans, Hopefully, you will find here all of the information that you need about me, the Author, TL Banks, and my work.  I like to think of myself as what would happen if girls could have babies with girls- My parents would be Dorothy Parker and Nikki Giovanni, for sure.  Just so that you are aware, without having asked permission or being legally affiliated in any way, purchasing any of my books also supports women's shelters in the Midwest and Southern Nevada that house displaced women and children that have been affected by domestic violence or sexual assault. Spending your reading dollars with me not only provides you with a little piece of my art but also helps others in need.  Reading and sharing are fundamental tasks to creating a more artistic environment for all!  I am a mother of one, essay and scholarship winner for poetry, a self-publisher, a blogger, an opinion columnist, and a halfway decent karaoke singer if there is whiskey involved! Thank you for supporting me! For more "Me" visit Desperatelydespicabledrivel.com

Thank you for following the adventures of Pixie Prince by reading Pixie's Last Summer and Pixie's first poetry chapbook, The Minx. I have had so much fun writing as her and I have really gotten an opportunity to get know myself a lot better when I let Pixie free. Tomika gets to take a vacation.

I hope that you feel that you know me now and love me just as much or more.

Pixie and I also share this book, It's Never Over, which of course, I penned, but trust me, it is cover to cover filled with exploits and dirty admissions about the never ending, fantastic, yet failed, psuedo-imaginary relationships Ms. Prince has had over the years in my body.

Hopefully the drama touches you in a way that you feel that same excitement and pain. And for those readers who have never felt it let it serve as a very human warning, person to person, of what potentially lies ahead.

Do not let it deter you.

    And do not avoid it.

     Take it all in.

Love unrequited, love unnatural, love plastique are in you and cannot be missed during this journey we all traverse.

    Explore the potential.

    Love heals all.

And it hurts like hell, too.

I would like to dedicate this volume to my younger sisters, Erica Dean Tillman and Cynthia Renee Tillman. No one has been able to sit down and cry and do their nails at the same time and laugh over heart ache and still pick ourselves up and try again like we did when we were together. We had some horrible loves, some mean ones, some no good ones and some great ones that we let slip by.  I dedicate this one to you, ladies, two very beautiful and strong women who will hopefully one day listen to their big sister and forge a new path where only happiness and true love exists.

Because what I have found my dear sisters, is that no one can make us happy, other than ourselves.

     Enjoy.

The Broken hearted Sex Club on Disaster Ave

    Midnight.

    Your Camels.

    My lighter.

    We meet.

    Same sign.

    Shot glass.

    Your face.

    Drum solo.

    Sweaty bar.

    Tight space.

    Ditzy laugh.

    No regrets.

    No tomorrow.

    Wife left.

    Spot light.

    Slow grind.

    Husband cheated.

    Red lipstick.

    Your mouth.

    Hotel key.

    No apologies.

    No hearts.

    One condom.

    We laugh.

    One cab.

    We dance.

    My breast.

    You lie.

    No names.

    No numbers.

    I lie.

    We leave.

    Muerte.

    Condemnation

Right now I can close my eyes and feel your skin with my mind.

All I do is pretend. I listen to every song that reminds me of every word you have ever said to me.

Your existence makes a fool of me.

If only I could just let you go.

Right now I can touch my arm and smell your sweat and taste your tongue.

All I do is pretend. I play like I can see you in the shadows in my room.

    Your resistance terrorizes me.

Right now I wish so hard that every memory burned into me was actually reality on
