Opened Doors - Artie Bryant
POETRY PRAISE…
A soul’s reincarnation
you are a mom’s protection and a dad’s validation
your words nurture feelings
skipping down happy avenue to mad lane and down to sad street
you are a Sunday worship 7 days a week
you speak in tongues from your lungs
missing you when you disappear
when the fog is the heaviest you have a keen way to make things transparently clear
you are every skeleton in any dark closet
thought provoking views, thought provoking logic
the omni-present voice you shoulder all pains…
praised in many ways
we debate and relate to any topic
not a day passes in anyway without you and I on a paradise getaway
your words are precisely on point and symbolic of a life path
I praise you
yet hate you at times like sibling fights
but will never leave your side
we ride like a Queen and Slim or a Bonnie and Clyde
through wee hours of the night and into quiet mornings
many times, you appear with no warnings
you speak loud and clear to my undivided attention
studying you like a bar exam and every technicality mentioned
complexity confusion like a Rubik’s cube’s dimensions
or simple simplicity like a Tiffany bracelet
let’s face it, it is official
we are together 4 ever
carved with initials
engraved in an old oak tree surrounded with a heart and let’s both sign it
Til Death do us Part
Chapter of Pain
HONEYBEE
Hovering on an aerial attack mission
selectively lining up her prey
a honey sucker but she never stays
starving for something new
she travels to her own tunes
the honeybee is full of madness and irresponsible behaviors
love tasers shock a soul with bolts of volts
then vanishes with mother nature
the Apis resides in its hive awaiting the next dive
awaiting the next thirsty open heart to arrive
sharpening her stinger like a #2 pencil to no end
heartless…
she’s barbless
she will fly to her death and sting over and over
again, and again …
THE DROP ZONE
Our love dropped like a fallen star on a pitch-black lonely night
a weeping dove with noiseless cries
hearts are falling out of love as quick as their falling in
this despaired air totally sucks
isolation is like the last soul standing on a lost earth
was it even worth granting love this love birth?
the love is gone
vanished in thin air like a vapes exhaled smoke
I’m staring at my cell listening for your tone
I’m itching to call; I keep picking up my phone
multiple times in just a day
sitting at a red light easing my foot off the brake
because my thoughts keep senselessly drifting away
immersed in this lane of pain
who in the hell shuffled this deck?
my
