I am not ashamed to admit, that I prayed to God each time to send me a wonderful wife. I was never disappointed and will continue to communicate with Him on a regular basis.

After losing two wonderful wives, thank God that I received inspiration to write poetry.

Erwin Parent

Erwin Parent is now retired after completing a near 60-year career in Information Technology. He began writing poetry after the death of his first wife, Virginia, after a 35-year marriage. He has not stopped writing since. Erwin lost two wives to Ovarian Cancer. When discovered, they were both terminal and passed away in a matter of weeks. He kept them both at home and was alone with them both in the end. He wrote this book to help others who may be grieving after losing a loved one. He writes. Introduction

Love. How can we live without it?

What would life be like without it?

When it’s lost, how do we find love again? How long should we wait?

I was married twice to two wonderful women. I lost them both to Ovarian Cancer.

They were both Terminal when it was discovered. I kept them both at home and was alone with them both at the end. The time was not filled with doom and gloom, but with inspiration. I felt God’s presence and share this to help others. All this is detailed in my first book:

While married to Virginia, my first wife, I wasn’t writing poetry so I have none until her death.

Writing poetry helped me cope with what happened.

Most of the poems will have a comment: why I came to write it, or other thoughts.

There are three sections

Finding Love – Meeting someone and falling in love.

Cherishing love – All the years spent together through thick and thin and all the ups and downs of any relationship

Losing love – Losing a spouse or long-time partner is a terrible tragedy. Handling and understanding this loss is what keeps us going. Sometimes, as in my case, I was able to find love again.

Thank God for You

You came into my life one day and I’ve never been the same,

You gave me hope once again and set my heart aflame;

You lifted spirits bending low you made me smile once more,

You gave me tender constant care you made my senses soar.

You came into my mind one day and I’ve never been the same,

You gave me balance once again like pictures in a frame;

You added color to my sight which saw only black and white,

You lit a candle in the dark and took away the night.

I can’t believe the dream came true,

I never thought I would find you;
