About this ebook

Janet is a high powered business consultant who travels most of the year bringing home the bacon in working with her clients. Her marriage has suffered a bit as a result but she has compensated by working on her career and her body in her frequent nights alone in hotels around the country.

But tonight, while sitting in the hotel restaurant, she meets Carl, a slightly nerdy but somehow also intriguing man, who buys her a drink. They chat for a while and Janet finds herself going to places she hasn’t been in quite some time. She begins to feel and experience things that she hasn’t drawn on since her college days.

Even after meeting Carl, she finds herself torn with thoughts and erotic images of him, but it was just a chance encounter... right?

Truth be told, the drinks were weak and the food probably a bit worse, but that was the curse of life on the road as a high-powered business consultant who spent forty weeks a year on the road. Her husband still thought getting to travel so much was a great perk. She had thought so too, but that had faded after about the third week. The constant waiting in lines at airports and sleeping in yet another strange bed in a strange town had gotten old fast.

Janet grimaced at the thought of her future itinerary, which included a few of her regular stops. It was significant that folks in hotel knew her by name as she'd been here so many times. Sadly, there were quite a few other hotels like that as well.

She sat in the restaurant of the hotel, sipping on a glass of wine and catching up on some late email traffic from work. She already finished up her usual dinner here, the salmon, which supposedly was actually cooked on
