She does date a little, but not too much as it is hard to meet men who are enthralled in the slightest with her profession and somehow that lack of interest got transferred to her as well.

Class was almost over, which was good, Paula thought to herself. She imagined that the only thing worse than teaching high schoolers was teaching at the collegiate level. She had always assumed that at least at the college level you were really dealing with young adults who at some level wanted to be there in class, as they were either paying for it or incurring large amounts of debt to do so.
While that was true perhaps, she had found that most of her students were living for the now and not too terribly worried about the long term potential financial impact of what they were doing today. Rather, they seemed only to talk about either the next part or the one which had just ended.
That was the cool segment of her classes; then you had the nerds, who spent probably all of their free time reading and studying the dry tomes she used in her classes. Roman history was not for those with low thresholds for boredom. She did have a few students who fell in
