    Preface

    Learning to develop a process for letting God into your life, is like touching the hem of the Savior. Gratitude is a critical process in healing. Gratitude increases our ability to understand and acquire vital information about ourselves and other people. Gratitude combined with journaling helps express feelings and vulnerabilities suppressed for decades. As we express gratitude for life in written and verbal form our lives become rich and we become prepared for the miracle of healing. When is not as important as how. The Lord will heal our broken hearts and give us a new heart and a new outlook on life. The savior of the world can and will heal us as we express gratitude.

    Secret Combinations Don’t Fool God

    Lamentation of the fallen fair ones.

    Secret combinations will cease when the law consistently punishes secret combination members for their illegal actions. Justice cannot be denied its claim and payment for broken laws. The actions of the secret combinations must be punished for justice to prevail.

    We can be grateful God is just, and we can plead our cause to Him. God does not like deception or lies. He can pierce through any darkness. We can tell Him our concerns about secret combinations and political machinations threatening the liberty of the people. Christ loves liberty. Slavery is against the order of heaven. We must be gentle and persuasive and never force another person against his will. We can pray to Heavenly Father, tell Him our desires to remain free and ask for His protection and guidance.

    3 Nephi 5

    5 But as many as there were who did not enter into a covenant, and who did still continue to have those secret murders in their hearts, yea, as many as were found breathing out threatenings against their brethren were condemned and punished according to the law.

    6 And thus they did put an end to all those wicked, and secret, and abominable combinations, in the which there was so much wickedness, and so many murders committed.

    Secret combinations are designed by Satan to keep people in darkness and under his control. Satan laughs at the suffering and enslavement of people, and he mocks God with his laughter.

    Moses 7

    26 And he beheld Satan; and he had a great chain in his hand, and it veiled the whole face of the earth with darkness; and he looked up and laughed, and his angels rejoiced.

    Ether 8

    15 And it came to pass that thus they did agree with Akish. And Akish did administer unto them the oaths which were given by them of old who also sought power, which had been handed down even from Cain, who was a murderer from the beginning.

    16 And they were kept up by the power of the devil to administer these oaths unto the people, to keep them in darkness, to help such as sought power to gain power, and to murder, and to plunder, and to lie, and to commit all manner of wickedness and whoredoms.

    Secret combinations are forbidden by God. The devil’s religion is war and immoral sexual behavior. The adversary appeals to the appetites of the natural man. The natural man is carnal, devilish and sensual. The natural man is a enemy to God.

    Ether 8

    19 For the Lord worketh not in secret combinations, neither doth he will that man should shed blood, but in all things hath forbidden it, from the beginning of man.

    Secret combinations destroy nations which participate in them because the combinations will create wars of annihilation. War is the filthy water of humanity. God fights the secret combinations to preserve His righteous people. We can be grateful the Lord will not forget His people nor ignore their cries for help.

    The filthy water is war.

    1 Nephi 8

    32 And it came to pass that many were drowned in the depths of the fountain; and many were lost from his view, wandering in strange roads.

    Ether 8

    22 And whatsoever nation shall uphold such secret combinations, to get power and gain, until they shall spread over the nation, behold, they shall be destroyed; for the Lord will not suffer that the blood of his saints, which shall be shed by them, shall always cry unto him from the ground for vengeance upon them and yet he avenge them not.

    23 …suffer not that these murderous combinations shall get above you, which are built up to get power and gain—and the work, yea, even the work of destruction come upon you, yea, even the sword of the justice of the Eternal God shall fall upon you, to your overthrow and destruction if ye shall suffer these things to be.

    We are to awake to our awful situation when secret combinations are among us if they go unpunished by the law.

    Ether 8

    25 …when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you;

    We should speak against the corruptness of the law when secret combinations have polluted the law.

    Helaman 8

    3 …Nephi had spoken unto them concerning the corruptness of their law;

    4 And those judges were angry with him because he spake plainly unto them concerning their secret works of darkness; nevertheless, they durst not lay their own hands upon him, for they feared the people lest they should cry out against them.

    Justice of God punishes the wicked when they are ripe in their iniquity.

    Helaman 8

    26 Yea, even at this time ye are ripening, because of your murders and your fornication and wickedness, for everlasting destruction; yea, and except ye repent it will come unto you soon.

    Secret combinations are a capital offense. The devil will not support his own. He will abandon his servants in their greatest need just as he did with the priests of Baal.

    Helaman 2

    10 And it came to pass that Helaman did send forth to take this band of robbers and secret murderers, that they might be executed according to the law.

    The sorrows of secret combinations are the useless waste of life that results from wars fought over resources.

    Mormon 6

    17 O ye fair ones, how could ye have departed from the ways of the Lord! O ye fair ones, how could ye have rejected that Jesus, who stood with open arms to receive you!

    18 Behold, if ye had not done this, ye would not have fallen. But behold, ye are fallen, and I mourn your loss.

    19 O ye fair sons and daughters, ye fathers and mothers, ye husbands and wives, ye fair ones, how is it that ye could have fallen!

    Secret combinations offer to share their resources (as enticement) with individuals they hope to recruit.

    Helaman 6

    38 …and had seduced the more part of the righteous until they had come down to believe in their works and partake of their spoils, and to join with them in their secret murders and combinations.

    Secret combinations hope to get above the people and control the people according to corrupt law and corrupt politicians. Satan administers oaths and penalties to individuals in his secret combinations.

    2 Nephi 26

    22 And there are also secret combinations, even as in times of old, according to the combinations of the devil, for he is the founder of all these things; yea, the founder of murder, and works of darkness; yea, and he leadeth them by the neck with a flaxen cord, until he bindeth them with his strong cords forever.

    Moses 6

    49 Behold Satan hath come among the children of men, and tempteth them to worship him; and men have become carnal, sensual, and devilish, and are shut out from the presence of God.

    Secret combinations seek gain by murder.

    Cain’s jealousy of his brother, Able, motivated him to murder for gain. However, Cain could not escape the justice of God. Secret combinations also build up rebellion among the people.

    Ether 11

    15 And it came to pass that there arose a rebellion among the people, because of that secret combination which was built up to get power and gain; and there arose a mighty man among them in iniquity, and gave battle unto Moron, in which he did overthrow the half of the kingdom; and he did maintain the half of the kingdom for many years.

    Secret combinations create wars of annihilation.

    Secret combinations kill by design to gain control.

    War is the filthy water of humanity. War’s cruelty is without end. Resource wars create scarcity leading to the death of the innocent.

    The Lord will deliver the people.

    Moses 6

    15 And the children of men were numerous upon all the face of the land. And in those days Satan had great dominion among men, and raged in their hearts; and from thenceforth came wars and bloodshed; and a man’s hand was against his own brother, in administering death, because of secret works, seeking for power.

    Individuals enslaved in secret combinations live in constant fear of exposure.

    The Lord sends servants to cry repentance to those caught in in the chains of secret combinations.

    Secret combinations engage in idle behavior. They are lazy. They want the fruits of industry without doing the work. They are hoping to deceive and gain assess to another’s resources through negotiation and flattery.

    Secret combinations have elaborate escape designs and routes to escape discovery, capture and any associated punishment.

    The wicked and the righteous will stand before God and be judged according to their works. The wicked must repent lest they fall under condemnation of the law.

    Alma 11

    41 Therefore the wicked remain as though there had been no redemption made, except it be the loosing of the bands of death; for behold, the day cometh that all shall rise from the dead and stand before God, and be judged according to their works.

    There must be opposition in all things, and we must learn to choose good over evil and to learn from our choices.

    2 Nephi 2

    11 For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things…

    Secret combinations and Satan want everyone to be miserable like them.

    2 Nephi 2

    18 And because he had fallen from heaven, and had become miserable forever, he sought also the misery of all mankind…

    The wicked can choose to repent and be cleansed by the blood of Christ.

    2 Nephi 2

    28 And now, my sons, I would that ye should look to the great Mediator, and hearken unto his great commandments; and be faithful unto his words, and choose eternal life, according to the will of his Holy Spirit;

    2 Nephi 26

    32 And again, the Lord God hath commanded that men should not murder; that they should not lie; that they should not steal; that they should not take the name of the Lord their God in vain; that they should not envy; that they should not have malice; that they should not contend one with another; that they should not commit whoredoms; and that they should do none of these things; for whoso doeth them shall perish.

    D&C 19

    3 Retaining all power, even to the destroying of Satan and his works at the end of the world, and the last great day of judgment, which I shall pass upon the inhabitants thereof, judging every man according to his works and the deeds which he hath done.

    4 And surely every man must repent or suffer, for I, God, am endless.

    10 For, behold, the mystery of godliness, how great is it! For, behold, I am endless, and the punishment which is given from my hand is endless punishment, for Endless is my name. Wherefore—

    11 Eternal punishment is God’s punishment.

    12 Endless punishment is God’s punishment.

    We must repent lest we face the judgments of God. Forgiveness is possible once we repent through the atonement of Jesus Christ. Surrender to God your will. Go before him with a broken heart and contrite spirit. Gain His mercy and forgiveness. Escape the awful monster: endless punishment and suffering caused by rebellion. Be grateful we have time to receive redemption through Christ’s atoning blood.

    D&C 19

    15 Therefore I command you to repent—repent, lest I smite you by the rod of my mouth, and by my wrath, and by my anger, and your sufferings be sore—how sore you know not, how exquisite you know not, yea, how hard to bear you know not.

    16 For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent;

    17 But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I;

    18 Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink

    20 Wherefore, I command you again to repent, lest I humble you with my almighty power; and that you confess your sins, lest you suffer these punishments of which I have spoken, of which in the smallest, yea, even in the least degree you have tasted at the time I withdrew my Spirit.

    The gospel brings us to Christ. Christ makes us aware that we need to repent and through Him be cleansed and gain eternal life in the presence of God.

    D&C 19

    31 And of tenets thou shalt not talk, but thou shalt declare repentance and faith on the Savior, and remission of sins by baptism, and by fire, yea, even the Holy Ghost.

    The punishment for the wicked ripe in iniquity is unimaginably terrible including burning and consignment to hell. The cleansing blood of Christ provides escape from both death and hell for the penitent.

    Moses 6

    59 That by reason of transgression cometh the fall, which fall bringeth death, and inasmuch as ye were born into the world by water, and blood, and the spirit, which I have made, and so became of dust a living soul, even so ye must be born again into the kingdom of heaven, of water, and of the Spirit, and be cleansed by blood, even the blood of mine Only Begotten; that ye might be sanctified from all sin, and enjoy the words of eternal life in this world, and eternal life in the world to come

    2 Nephi 26

    4 Wherefore, all those who are proud, and that do wickedly, the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of Hosts, for they shall be as stubble.

    5 And they that kill the prophets, and the saints, the depths of the earth shall swallow them up, saith the Lord of Hosts; and mountains shall cover them, and whirlwinds shall carry them away, and buildings shall fall upon them and crush them to pieces and grind them to powder.

    6 And they shall be visited with thunderings, and lightnings, and earthquakes, and all manner of destructions, for the fire of the anger of the Lord shall be kindled against them, and they shall be as stubble, and the day that cometh shall consume them, saith the Lord of Hosts.

    7 …I must cry unto my God: Thy ways are just.

    Moses 6

    29 Wherefore, they have foresworn themselves, and, by their oaths, they have brought upon themselves death; and a hell I have prepared for them, if they repent not;

    The two great commandments are to love God and our fellow man. God is great. God is good. God is just.

    Moses 7

    33 And unto thy brethren have I said, and also given commandment, that they should love one another, and that they should choose me, their Father; but behold, they are without affection, and they hate their own blood;

    One day the earth will be cleansed by fire and the wicked servants of Satan burned like chaff. The pain of wars and secret combinations will depart. Our hearts will be filled with gratitude for the Lord’s deliverance. The millennium will begin, and the gentle and peaceful things of the Lord’s kingdom will reign supreme. Zion will have no poor among them. Zion will be pure in heart. The innocent will be safe. The good Shepherd will watch over His flock. Men will be accountable for their actions. The young will grow to adulthood. The hatred against one flesh will be gone as a theocratic government guides man’s policies and laws.

    Grace

    Grace is the full power of the atonement.

    Grace signifies our dependence upon the mercy of Christ to receive our salvation. To receive mercy from justice is to receive grace. Justice punishes the unrepentant and justifies the righteous with an eternal reward. We should be extremely grateful for grace. Grace is a gift from God. The creation of the earth is grace because it was a gift for man to experience mortality. The earth was created for man. The beauty of the earth and the wide variety of life and systems is beautiful and pleasing to man. Creation is also a gift of grace. Justice protects the innocent. The power of justice is a gift. Justice provides safety and fairness in the plan of salvation. The honest and obedient are blessed with protection by God spiritually and physically.

    D&C 20

    25 That as many as would believe and be baptized in his holy name, and endure in faith to the end, should be saved—

    30 And we know that justification through the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is just and true;

    Grace requires sacrifice, and sacrifice requires the pure love of God. The selfless act to save is another example of grace. Enduring to the end requires meekness and patience. We willfully accept the will of God for us. Early on, we carry our loads with murmuring and grumbling. As we get older and gain wisdom, we learn to carry our burdens with a cheerful attitude. If you get lemons, make lemonade. We learn to not fear death as we age with wisdom and meekness. Our lives become more sweet and peaceful.

    2 Nephi 10

    25 Wherefore, may God raise you from death by the power of the resurrection, and also from everlasting death by the power of the atonement, that ye may be received into the eternal kingdom of God, that ye may praise him through grace divine. Amen.

    A man who has experienced the grace of God lives a peaceful life. Peace results from the grace of God. Healing of our wounds brings peace. We should be grateful for any peace given us in his life. What greater gift can God give us in a world of turmoil than peace? Let the peace of God distill upon us, dwell in our hearts and give us restful peace.

    2 Nephi 26

    9 But the Son of Righteousness shall appear unto them; and he shall heal them, and they shall have peace with him, until three generations shall have passed away, and many of the fourth generation shall have passed away in righteousness.

    Grace brings peace as one experiences a remission of his sins, as the spirit of the Lord comes upon him. We should rejoice that forgiveness of sin is possible and that we can escape the grasp and claim of justice, however justified it may be.

    Mosiah 4

    3 And it came to pass that after they had spoken these words the Spirit of the Lord came upon them, and they were filled with joy, having received a remission of their sins, and having peace of conscience, because of the exceeding faith which they had in Jesus Christ who should come, according to the words which king Benjamin had spoken unto them.

    Grace is sufficient for the meek. Being meek establishes in us the right attitude that makes us open to acknowledging our sins, our need for repentance and taking advantage of the atonement of Jesus Christ’s saving grace.

    Ether 12

    26 My grace is sufficient for the meek

    Christ is full of grace and truth. This means we can receive mercy from Christ. He is our Savior. Christ will never betray us nor bring injury to our hearts. He is very understanding and kind, and He is all-intelligent. When near Christ, you feel like running to Him and worshiping Him. He is the Beloved Son of God, and in so many ways, the best advocate we have.

    Grace is equivalent to charity or the pure love of God. Christ will judge all mankind with fairness and equality. He is no respecter of persons. He will judge the wicked and the righteous according to their works and the intent of their hearts.

    Alma 13
