Lion Subspecies
Lions are majestic animals that live in different parts of Africa and Asia. Scientists used to think that there were only two types of lions - African and Asiatic - but now they know that there are actually many different types of lions based on their genes.
Some of the different types of lions are the West African lion, the Central African lion, the East African lion, and the Southern African lion. These lions might look similar on the outside, but they are different on the inside.
