Love Letters to the Earth Welcoming One Home to Their Nature - Brigid Hopkins

    Love Letters to the Earth

    Welcome,

Love Letters to the Earth began as a form of communication to the tiny spaces precursors of light. For years, I wandered around looking for a place that felt like home. It is through inner explorations I came to find a home. Each day spent on Earth is a remarkable experience of HOME ( Healing, Oasis, Materialize, Evolution).

As your fingers grace these pages, I hope that you feel a sense of homecoming. Each letter is strung into a word, shaped into a poem or story. I see these letters as a song of healing and honoring to the great body we all inhabit.

    Yours in radical living,

    Brigid Hopkins

    About the Author

    Ancestral Soil

The images described are softer moments from a week of deep processing

Exploring the cavern of the wounded self

I am working through the rougher layers of old skin

    The skin of desperation

I desperately wanted to be the light in my parent's eyes

The small child within that wanted to mean something in their world

To be relieved of the weight of their shattered sense of self

I ran behind them, picking up the pieces, trying to make sense of their mess

I've carried the weight because, at the time, I thought I could help

I wanted them to be ok so that I could be ok

Even though my dad never lived with us, I still carried his pieces

I sat in council with these shards, witnessing the storylines that once felt sane to manage

    The skin is exfoliating

I no longer find comfort in working with other people's puzzle pieces in this space

I am nourishing my relationship with myself by being with beauty

    Community

Harvesting fresh spring foods, allowing them time to integrate as I come back from exploring within

Soaking my feet in the rolling river's grace

Allowing calluses of confusion to soften into a state of presence where the wholeness of self is resting now

Not some fictional idea of self, but the light that pulses without hesitation throughout eternity

Light is the reality of who we are

We came to digest the troubles and compost them into a renewed soil for the generations to come

To relieve the future by dealing with the present from the state of wholeness

The shards steadily compressed to grains of sand

The sands our children will play on, near the rolling rivers

    Their feet will know

Their hearts will beat with the remembering of all who gave so much for their world to be actual

    Autumn

    I could feel your approach

    Before you rounded the bend

    The desire for warmth

    Conversations that stretch my ears

    Fires

    Nestled in the den

    Of Autumn's

    Hands

    Crackling of acorns

    Beneath my feet

    Damp breaths

    That only autumn

    Hangs

    I'm slowing

    Turning inwardly

    Won't you stay awhile

    Tell me of your adventures

That blow you closer to me

    It's been a whole season

    My friend

    Your embrace

    Is most welcomed

    Your hues invite

    Me to relish my own

    Spectrum and depths

    Lay my head to reflect

    On what is turning back

    Into the soil

    Of my life's experience

    Awakened Senses

Sensuality has been on my mind

Curious to experiment with ways to nurture the essence of Eros without people

A new morning practice where I wander and follow what allures me

Spent time looking at puddles from varying angles

Watched a gaggle of geese tend to their fuzzy goslings

Sang to the swift current in the nearby river

I've also taken pleasure in removing garbage from the forest

These experiences tap into a new channel of pleasure energy that I didn't know was possible!

    Deeply nourishing,
