About this ebook

This book does not follow the “status quo” as it breaks quite a few writing rules to accommodate the author’s unique writing style. It is a compilation of thirty-one spoken word pieces that speak about the author’s truths. Taking on different themes, the pieces give a figurative view into the prismatic world of the author.

Delve wantonly into the colourful thoughts, emotions, and experiences that shape the reality of Sherisse Alexander.

    I Shouldn’t Have

U nconditional love and unprotected sex,

I opened up my body, allowing him to offer up worship in my temple.

Consummating the sacrament of love as I helplessly allowed him to squeeze my head and treat me like a clothespin.

Legs opened with an involuntary motion,

I allowed him to read the story of the scripts written between my thighs.

    I shouldn’t have though,

For it seemed like the biggest . . .

    Mistake,

    Regret,

    Mishap,

    Misfortune.

I hate myself for allowing vulnerability to characterize me.

I wish that I possessed the power to kill so that I could rid myself of the feelings I wish I never had for him.
