About this ebook
Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book.
#1 I was willed into existence by my sister. I was designed to be just that for her—a sister to complete her duo, to make us whole. Kait was extremely determined and stubborn, and she never waited. She marched through each developmental milestone.
#2 My sister used to tell me fairytales, and I would listen quietly. When I was around four, I yelled out that I could hear them. The story went down as a family epic. My parents were honest and straightforward with me, and my mother was the type of pretty that was impossible to deny.
#3 Mom was always working to better everything, from the home project we had to the new color for the walls. She was one of the first female stockbrokers in her class, and she navigated an era before the Me Too movement.
#4 I had a sister, Kait, who was five years older than me. I loved and admired her, but I was always jealous of the age gap between us. I wanted to catch up to her, but I was always moving around with our family, and so I never did.

I had a sister, Kait, who was five years older than me. I loved and admired her, but I was always jealous of the age gap between us. I wanted to catch up to her, but I was always moving around with our family, and so I never did.
#5
I had a very sheltered childhood, protected from any serious problems or issues by my parents. I look back on it now and realize that the streets of Marblehead, where I lived, were quiet and peaceful, unlike the streets of Philadelphia, where we later moved.
#6
I was always happy, and I did not understand the reason for my parents’ absence or my mother’s kindness. I just knew I was happy. I would come to understand the strength behind my mother’s kindness.
