The breeze on my bare and unshaved legs.

And the sunset on the prairie, just the sun and I,

With nothing between us except an expanse of wheat.

Waiting for the train in Paris and hearing a woman

    singing to herself, a lullaby.

The man who plays accordion and sings in the parks,

    Laurier and Lafontaine.

    The strength of my mother

and the tenderness of my father.

To always, always trust my intuition about a thing.

That the world, full of shock and short on silences,

    Is a much better
