About this ebook

“And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.” – Matthew 13:3-9

    The Word and the Creature

As a consequence of man’s disobedience to the Word of God, he is appointed to return to the dust from which he was made. In saying, for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return, the Lord equated Adam to dust. As for the breath that God breathed into his nostrils, which made him a living soul, it ceased to flow through him after he disobeyed the commandment of the Lord. Without the power of the breath of God, man became mere flesh, subject to death and corruption. When flesh dies, it turns to dust. But when seed is sown in the dust, it brings forth fruit. The seed makes the nothingness of the dust turn into something fruitful.

As for the waters of heaven which restore the flesh, it had flowed from the mountain of God through the spirit of Adam into the creatures of the earth. But when it became polluted, the Lord created a new path through a new generation leading to Jesus the Son of God. It is written, Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him (John 6:54-56). The cost of eating the forbidden fruit was sin and death, but now the Lord Jesus who is the Word which came in the flesh gave Himself so that all may be able to eat and drink freely and have eternal life. One can eat of the flesh and drink of the blood of Christ by believing Him and keeping His word: This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world (John 6:50-51), and Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death (John 8:51). Israel had also drunk the water out of the rock in the wilderness which is the Lord Jesus (1 Corinthians 10:4).

When the Lord resurrected, He breathed on [His disciples], and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost (John 20:22). The breath of God now flows again through the Spirit of Jesus. The Lord said, He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him (John 14:21). As all mankind became disobedient to God through Adam, all became obedient through Jesus who was born of the Holy Ghost. It is written, At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth (Philippians 2:10). In the same way that disobedience to the Word was the evidence that one is a dead
