About this ebook

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Book Preview:

#1 In the summer of 1950, more than ten divisions of the North Korean People’s Army crossed the 38th Parallel in Korea. The 231,000 North Koreans launched a blitzkrieg-like attack that led to the complete capture of Seoul in three days.

#2 The United States, prosperous and victorious from World War II, had largely shed its military might and had turned its attention to the business of building cars, homes, and factories. The only readily available combat units were understrength infantry divisions that were now taking part in the occupation of Japan.

#3 After several weeks of desperate fighting on the Pusan Perimeter, America’s vastly outnumbered forces faced slaughter by superior numbers of North Korean troops. The First Marine Division was brought up to strength.

#4 First Sergeant Zullo was the heart and soul of George Company. He was a fine officer, but in the minds of the men, he was the commanding officer. He had learned how to handle an ax and a crosscut saw at an early age, and he was a champion middleweight boxer.
