This book is for anyone who has experienced the agony and the ecstasy of a schooldays’ crush on an unattainable boy or girl. Here’s to a second chance at first love!
Chapter One
I dare you to kiss Yo-Yo!
Fourteen-year-old Christopher Cromwell groaned inwardly, but his voice was full of bravado as he responded, "Come on, Paul, I want a proper challenge."

He touched his mouth to hers briefly before pushing against the locker and straightening.
She turned her head back to stare at him wordlessly for a moment. He tried to silently communicate his regret, but to his horror her eyes slowly filled with tears and as the air around them erupted with cruel teenage laughter, she ducked under his arm and ran down the corridor, her book falling heedlessly to the ground.
Christopher picked it up, fighting the urge to run after her and apologize. His friends came up and patted him on the back, but never had he felt less worthy of praise than at that moment.

Yolanda stopped running a block from home and carefully dried her eyes. If either parent saw her crying they’d demand an explanation and she didn’t feel up to
