    FRENCH RECIPES

Many of the same products are used in Mediterranean cuisine, but each nation is cooking them in its way.

Provence is a historical and geographical region in southeastern France that stretches from the lower Rhône River in the west to the Italian border in the east. It is bordered on the south by the Mediterranean Sea.

The Côte d'Azur, also known as the French Riviera, is part of the region.

In terms of food preferences and meals organization and structure throughout the day, the French and other Mediterranean diets also have many similarities.

In France, for example, there is no snacking; they eat three meals a day, each with three courses; they eat together; portion control is expected; and junk food is avoided.

Although the French eat a wide variety of foods, they prefer to keep it basic and prepare meals with cheese, eggs, potatoes, butter, yogurt, pasta, and bread.

France is known for making some of the world's finest wines and cheeses, and even at casual dinner parties, wine and food pairing is taken seriously in France.

    Madame Ratatouille

Ratatouille is a stewed vegetable recipe from the Provence region of southern France that can be eaten as a side dish, dinner, or stuffing for other words including crepes and omelettes.

The vegetables are usually cooked in a shallow pan over high heat and then baked in the oven bowl.

Some French chefs, such as Julia Child, disagree with sauteing all vegetables together and argue that the vegetables should be cooked separately and layered into the baking
