Shannon W Helzer

Shannon W. Helzer is the Author of Rhue's House and You are too Young. A native of Zanesville Ohio, he attended Norfolk State University in Norfolk Virginia where he earned his bachelor's degree in Physics and, subsequently, his master's degree in Materials Science. Afterwards, he spent several years serving as an Officer in the US Navy. He went on to earn a master's degree in education while teaching at Kutztown University in Kutztown Pennsylvania. He finished his twenty-year teaching career as a high school Physics teacher. He currently resides in the greater Allentown Area and has two grown children.Although a math and science nerd by nature, he has a great love of reading engendered and cultivated by his seventh grade reading teacher. A few years later one of his high school English teachers enhanced and reinforced this love, despite his resistance, with a love of writing. Factor in a life certificate earned by thirty-five years of education through the school of hard knocks and you get a new author. He doesn't have any literary awards and has not made it on any of those lists. That is up to the reader. He is just happy knowing that he can make a person's day a little better by creating good and meaningful stories for them to enjoy. Although, he certainly admits that it would be nice to be on one of those lists!
