About this ebook

What’s happening at Canvas, the city’s most successful tattoo shop?

Well, frankly, stuff that shouldn’t be happening in a tattoo shop.

Millie
Always one to dance to her own tune, Millie Houston wasn’t big on what other people thought. Her parents had raised her to be her own person, and she was often referred to as a spitfire. Her no-nonsense attitude and cutting tongue had helped her survive in the world of art and piercing, and her job at Canvas was the perfect fit for her; it really was.

Nevertheless, things become tense and awkward when she lets her emotions get the better of her, and she finds herself struggling with overcoming her anger, and...yes, jealousy. Even knowing better, she’s always had a thing for one of her coworkers, though she’s never said anything. Sticking with dating jerkoffs, she just keeps praying that, one day, one of them won’t turn out to be a total loser.

Cason
Always one to do his own thing, Cason Parker was big on living his life to the fullest and not giving a damn what other people thought. He’d been raised to follow his dreams and live his life for himself, not others. So, when he had followed his best friend into the world of tattooing, it had made sense to follow him into making a career out of it, too. Therefore, his job at Canvas was the perfect fit for him.

Nevertheless, for all the good in his life, some of his vices were coming back to haunt him, and they were beginning to affect his place of work and his coworkers, too. Determined to make things right, he does just that, only one coworker refuses to forgive him. The situation is super problematic when you consider the fact that he’s been in love with her since forever, but she doesn’t know it.

When you have an entirely new appreciation for kidnapping...
Knowing that something’s gotta give, Millie sets out to forget all about her feelings for Cason. Determined to put it all behind her, she makes a plan to go out and meet someone that can help her do just that. However, her plans hadn’t included cockblocking and kidnapping.

Knowing that something’s gotta give, Cason decides to go for broke and let Millie know just how he feels about her, even though his delivery could have used some work. However, with jealousy as one hell of a motivator, he turns things up a notch, and it’s only kidnapping if charges are pressed.

When sexual frustration turns into arguing, then turns into cockblocking, then turns into kidnapping, then turns into the best sex of her life...well, Millie’s not sure if she can keep up with Cason’s special brand of crazy. As for Cason? He finally finds out that love is the worst drug out there.

    About the Author

    Author’s Note

Just a couple of things before I let you go and get your read on. While I am doing my best to work with better editing and proofreading software, all my books are solo, independent works. I write my books, proofread my books, edit my books, create the covers, etc. I have one beta who gives me feedback on my stories, but other than that, all my books are independent projects.

That being said, I apologize, in advance, for the typos, grammar inconsistencies, or any other mistakes I may make. Since writing is strictly a hobby for me, I haven’t looked into commitments in regard to publishers, editors, etc. My hope is that my stories are enjoyable enough that a few mistakes, here and there, can be overlooked. However, if you’re a stickler for grammar, my books are probably not for you.

Also, I am an avid reader-I mean an AVID reader. I love to read above any other hobby. However, the only downside to my reading obsession is when I fall in love with a series, but I have to wait for the additional books to come out. So, because I feel that disappointment down to my soul, when I started publishing my works, I vowed to publish all books in my series all at once. No waiting here…LOL. Now, the exception to that will be if enough readers request additional stories based off the standalone, such as in Facing the Enemy. At that point, if I decide to move forward with a requested series, I will make sure all additional books are available all at once. As much as this is a hobby for me, I am writing these books for all of you, as well as myself.

    Thank you, for everything!

    Prologue

I needed to get my shit together, and I knew this.

With Travis and Vera happily in love and getting married soon, I knew that I had to snap out of my funk, but it was easier said than done. Normally, Cason’s groupies wouldn’t bother me, but Vera had gotten into a fight over one of them, and even though the gash on her face had healed nicely, I was still mad that it had happened in the first place.

So, in an attempt to drink away my issues, I had come to Misgivings for a couple of beers and a few shots. However, when I’d noticed Cason playing pool with a few friends, a couple of beers and a few shots had turned into so much more. I was officially drunk, but since the shop didn’t open up until the afternoon, I had plenty of time to nurse the guaranteed hangover meeting me in the morning.

You’re not driving, Gil said as he placed another drink in front of me. Either I call you a cab when you’re ready or I drive you home myself.

Then why are you still serving me if that’s where we are? I challenged, lifting a brow.

His lips twitched. Because I know better than to cut you off when you have that look on your face.

    That’s fair.

The man winked at me as he went to help the other drunks in here, and my night only got worse when two beautiful blondes sat down next to me, their voices so awesomely loud and clear.
