Additionally, this book reaffirms the transformative power of prayer. This book is meant to provide encouragement and inspiration to anyone who is experiencing or has experienced a traumatic, life¬ changing event. Know that if God takes you to it, He'll take you through it.
Finally, this book examines the healing power of forgiveness and its immeasurable benefits.
However, this book does acknowledge our limited ability to forgive absent divine intervention. Let go, and let God.

INTRODUCTION
Life will sometimes present you with situations that you’re not prepared to endure. Even though I was not prepared for what occurred or the roller coaster our lives would take, I soon discovered that three elements were essential if we were going to survive this dire situation: prayer, faith, and trust in God.
Prayer is useless if you don’t have faith that your prayer will be answered. By that same token, faith is useless if you don’t truly trust that God can and will do just what He says. It is easy to say, I have faith,
when everything is going well in your life. When your back is against the wall and chips are down, that is when you really find out how strong your faith is and just how much you trust God. In addition, you will find out if you are a prayer warrior or a pretender.
This book chronicles the day-to-day, week-to-week, month-to-month journey our family endured when my husband had a massive stroke. It was not something we could ever have prepared for. We were completely blindsided. This book is meant to provide encouragement and inspiration to anyone who is experiencing a life-changing situation. Know that if God takes you to it, He will take you through it.
It is my hope that our story will renew and refresh your faith and trust in God and invigorate your prayer life. It is true that you can never prepare for unexpected situations. However, we know that life-changing events can occur. Be ready. Arm yourself with faith, and trust in God and prayer.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
First and foremost, I want to thank God for His grace and mercy. When everything seemed to be collapsing all around me, He brought light into darkness. When I felt like giving up, He was right there to strengthen me. During those times of uncertainty, He calmed my spirit and settled my mind. Somehow saying, Thank you,
just doesn’t seem to be enough, but I know that as long as it is sincere, it’s enough for Him.
Additionally, I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge my late parents, Plese and Sarah Hudnall. Throughout my life, they encouraged me to be the very best I could be. To them, being my best was getting a good education and putting God first. Their best for me has served me well. I know they are smiling right now.
Also, I must acknowledge my husband, Barry Jenkins, for his fight and tenacity and for allowing me to share his story with the world. He survived a massive stroke and a COVID-19 hospitalization. He has a true calling on his life. He has been blessed beyond measure. Hopefully, our story will bless others.
Finally, thank you to the Fifth Street Missionary Baptist Church family for the fervent prayers, calls, visits, and unwavering love and support during a very trying time for our family. Someone said to me that God sent us to Fifth Street because He knew that the time would come when we would need people around us with radical faith.
Thank you for your declaration of faith and for being who God has called you to be: kind and compassionate.
