It would be a joy to go through this book with a group. The discussion questions will help us to hear from others that we’re not alone in the struggle to eat right, exercise, and be as healthy as possible. Groups can discuss the Bible verses and apply them to daily life. Katherine suggests that a discussion group could enjoy walking together and share a snack before they discuss each chapter—that sounds like health for the body and the soul.
—Katy Kauffman, magazine editor and award-winning Bible study author
Our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit—as a result, God has given us every good food to take care of it. In Honoring God with My Body, Katherine explains how healthy food choices and physical exercise can help us enjoy good health. She also reveals that health is more than just physical: our health is mental/intellectual, emotional, social, vocational, and spiritual.
Balance is crucial.
Katherine challenges us to be Fit for Service
and a Light for Jesus.
God has called us to use our gifts and talents for His glory.
But, most importantly, Katherine shares that the love of God through His Son, Jesus, is everything we need. The Creator of all things loves, cherishes, and has chosen us. We can do all things through Christ—especially living and eating well.
—Stephanie Pavlantos, author of Jewels of Hebrews; Biologist, and Bible teacher

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
For everyone who has faced the challenge of overcoming certain lifestyle choices that contribute to poor health, we know how difficult breaking bad habits and establishing healthy new choices can be. This book began in my own struggles to achieve wellness and progressed into a study to help others.
For my husband, Bob, who is always my best role model for service to others, this book would not have been possible without your encouragement and your support of my continuing education, my career as a teacher, and my vocation as a servant of God.
To my siblings and children, who served as sounding boards for ideas and as proofreaders and who loved me despite the weirdness and quirkiness that goes with being a writer.
To my church family—you have been with me through the hard times, continued to love me, and prayed for me. A special thank you to my dear friends, Carolyn Anderson, for being the world’s greatest encourager and Debbie Booker for loving me across the miles.
To my colleagues at Lenoir-Rhyne University, thank you for the opportunity to teach and serve in the College of Health Science. My years with you and the students of LR allowed me to grow in knowledge, faith, and confidence to serve others.
To my Lighthouse Bible Studies family who understands the challenges of being an author; who love, encourage, and support each other on social media and at conferences; and who exemplify the grace, faith, and love of Jesus in your daily lives.
To Morgan James Publishing who believed in me and the impact this book could have on the lives of those striving for better health. Thank you, Terry Whalin, for your enthusiasm and encouragement. Thank you, David Hancock, for reaching out in support of a new author. Thank you, Heidi Nickerson and the entire Morgan James’ team, for assisting and supporting me in the publishing process.
For my editor, Aubrey Kosa, I am grateful for your cheerfulness, dependability, encouragement, and skill in helping my book be the best it can be.
For all who struggle with the goal of achieving and maintaining wellness through healthier lifestyle choices, I understand your struggle, and my thoughts and prayers are with you on your journey.
