#1 Reading is comprehension. -> The theory of reading conceptually came to me after years of personal frustration. I was 61 years old and had been frustrated with my reading since about the age of ten. I was convinced my slow reading was incurable.

#2 There is no right reading speed. It is flexible and relative to your thinking speed. If you can comprehend faster, you will be thinking faster, but what you read will always seem to be taking place at normal speed in your mind.

#3 There is no right reading speed. It is flexible and relative to your thinking speed. If you can comprehend faster, you will be thinking faster, but what you read will always seem to be taking place at normal speed in your mind.

There is no right speed when reading. If you know how to read faster, you can read faster or slower if you wish. Reading too slowly can leave you missing important details and nuances, while reading too fast may make you unable to comprehend what you’re reading.

    #3

Each chapter of this book starts with instructional material. These explanations will give you an understanding of what reading with the right brain is and how it can be applied to your reading. #5

To calculate your reading speed, divide 60,000 by the number of seconds it takes you to read the text. The resulting number is your words per minute.

    #6

The shift into higher reading speeds comes from learning to read with the right brain, reading whole ideas rather than words. The methods and theories of this technique will be further explored in the book, but in this first practice segment, just pay attention to how the text is segregated into distinct
