That's what we have to find out, announced Marc.

Chapter 2

Ryu hid in the garden of the building next door watching the police as he began to walk in the shadows past them without being detected.

Ninjas are known for their stealthiness, and being a master of disguises. They were both spies and warriors during a dark time in Japan's history.  Ryu changed into a policeman's uniform so he could track John.  He was concerned that the detective might think he was the murderer.  He figured John would lead him to a renegade ninja he was on a quest to find.  The one who disgraced his clan and tried to kill him.

Ryu was a member of the Tanaka Clan. They have been around for hundreds of years with Ninja skills passed on from one generation to the next.  In modern times, they work as part of Japan’s elite secret agency called Kokuryūkai, also known as the Black Dragon society.  Their existence is known only to select few within the Japanese government.

Ryu was able to obtain a police vehicle and follow John to the police headquarters.  He was then able to sneak into the air duct of the building and find John talking to both Special Agent Marc Delfino and LT. Weston.

So other than the shrunken stuck in the Senator's head, what other information do we have? John asked.

Not too much to go on as of now. Did the Senators have any enemies? Marc asked.

No, he was very well respected and well liked, John replied. 

We had the CSI dump his phone records and noticed several calls made to a Mr. Terai Yasho. He is the president of Nakamoto Financial, said  LT. Weston.

I guess we should find out what they talked about, said Marc. I also did my own checking and found very large deposits in the last 5 months in the Senator's accounts.  He's made 5 million dollars in the last year alone.

Sounds fishy, said John. Let's meet up in the morning.

There was a knock at the door.

Sorry for the interruption, Detective. But I have the Senator's sister Rachael Jones here to see you, said Officer Stevens.

I will be out to meet her in a few minutes.

John hadn’t seen Michael's sister in years.  He knew she lived in Miami Beach and Michael often talked about her. John recalled that she was never married. 

As she came into view John’s heart began pounding-  she was drop dead gorgeous.  She had long black hair, voluptuous curves, and green eyes.  He could not speak for her beauty made him speechless.

Sorry for your loss Ms. Jones. I am LT Weston, this Detective Esposito, and this is FBI Agent Delfino.

Tears ran down her face. 

I was in town to celebrate his birthday, which was tomorrow, and now he's gone.  I don't know what to do, she sobbed.

Rachael, I know this can be hard, John said as he held her in his arms.

He was trying to comfort her, but in some respects, he felt that she was comforting him instead.

Did you notice any change in his life or behavior lately? I hate to question you at a moment like this, but any bit of information can help solve this case.

Can we talk tomorrow? she asked. I'm not in any condition to answer any questions.

Of course! John said. Where are you staying, I want to make sure you are safe.

I have a key to Michael’s apartment, she replied. 

John followed her to the apartment to make sure she was safe and then headed home. He was tired and wanted to try and see if he could get some sleep.

It was a sleepless night for John, since his mind would not let him rest.  He was up all night thinking about the case.  He was trying to comprehend what was happening.  A friend murdered by a Ninja. Who hires a ninja to kill someone in this day and age?

CHAPTER 3

John rose from the bed, got dressed, and headed back to the scene to see if he could gather more clues and solve his friend's mysterious death.When John arrived at the scene, the reporters were still there, along with CSI.  He noticed that Special Agent Delfino was there too. He was talking to the press.
