Chapter 1 – A Gathering of Friends

EVELYN SAT BREATHLESS, watching Jared’s expression as she waited for his answer. He swallowed nervously, then drew a deep breath and rubbed his chin.

Wow, he said, raising his eyebrows at Ev. Then he smiled and nodded. Okay. What the fuck. Let’s do it!

Ev threw her arms around him, hugging him tight. "Yes! I’ll call Alicia and let her know our anniversary impregnation vacation is a go!"

Jared laughed, hearing what she and Alicia were calling the event. "Seriously? Holy shit, honey. You girls are wild!"

Ev shot Alicia a quick text message, her heart beating fast and her insides spinning topsy-turvy with excitement.

Three years had passed since their wild wedding night with Wade, Alicia, and all the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Three years since their honeymoon in Saint Martin, paid for by Wade and Alicia on the condition that they join them.
