There she was, punctual as usual, walking toward his door. The clickity-clack of her heels on the Italian stone was music to his loins. The early evening sun made the natural radiance of her fresh face glow. He opened the door and stepped onto the porch to get a better look at the sway of her hips as she sashayed confidently in his direction. 

Kelly Delaney was an interior designer. Greyson hired her to decorate three properties he’d acquired over the past two years. She came highly recommended, and he was exceptionally pleased with her work. 

Thank you for coming, Mrs. Delaney, he said, kissing her on both cheeks. As expected, she was wearing her signature fragrance — Jo Malone. Her scent, like her taste, was exquisite. There was a top note of subtle but sugary English pear. The heart note was freesia, soft, floral, and sweet. But his favorite note lay beneath — pachouli. It was the perfect balance of musk and earth.

Kelly followed Greyson into the sitting room with its stunning ocean view. Streaks of pink and gold painted the sky as the sun began to make its
