Introduction

This book was born from pain and personal experience. Experience that is both insightful and destructive. The following pages are direct testimony to the power of God and my spiritual journey navigating the storms of life. So much can be said about the war that is raging for our souls daily. We live in a wicked world. Just one glance at the news can attest to that fact. The reason for this is simple, Satan’s kingdom is seeking to kill, steal and destroy. The grim realities of life can be a sobering truth. Many people would have you believe that the devil isn’t real. That he is just some imaginary being on par with Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy, a mere figment of the imagination. Make no mistake! You have a very real and present enemy. But you are not without help. That help is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Throughout history, man has sought to find his place in the natural order of things. Looking within to find an empty and oftentimes fragmented sense of self. All the wrongs of the world cannot be pinned on the devil, but all roads lead back to God. This simple but perplexing truth should reassure us that everything happens for a reason. God is in control. Still, the road will be rough, and there will be adversity and obstacles because Satan is the god of this world. I plead with my audience not to degrade this spiritual truth into the stereotypical archetypal battle of good vs. evil. There are real stakes at hand. Your sanity, your family, and your eternal soul, just to name a few. I do not say this to scare you, only to make you aware. We all are participating in this battle whether we know it or not. The concept of neutrality does not exist, and you must choose a side. Satan doesn’t care if you do not believe in God; he prefers it. The evil forces in the world seek to take advantage of your naivete and keep you in spiritual bondage. Jesus came that He may set the captives free and give them everlasting life. When sin first entered the world, it caused a domino effect of damage and destruction that permeates throughout all cultures and civilizations. Evil is not a facet of the human condition; it is an anomaly that must be addressed spiritually, not physically. Everything manifests first in the spiritual and then materializes in the physical world. This is the main reason Satan wants us to focus on materialistic things and neglect the spiritual realm. He wants you so wrapped up in your problems that you don’t even consider looking to heaven from which your help comes. My target audience for this book is not necessarily Christians. My goal is to reach out to the non-believer. All in hopes that I may expose the plans of the wicked enemy in their life. Satan has a tailor-made plan for all his targets. The way he will try to destroy me will not be the same way he tries to destroy you. Although everyone’s fight will look different, there is a unifying theme that weaves it all together. Satan’s attacks on our lives are all predicated on lies and deceit. Always remember the number one strategy of the kingdom of darkness is deception and trickery. If Satan cannot deceive you with the temptation, he will seek to accuse you before the throne of God. He does this because he wants to drag you to hell with him and his army of fallen angels. Satan is like a disobedient child who seeks to get everyone else in trouble because his punishment is fast approaching. It is not God’s will for us to go to hell. Hell was prepared for Satan and death, not for the children of God.

God has bestowed us with free will, and we must decide for ourselves. At the time of my typing this work, I find myself still in spiritual bondage. I experience spiritual attacks just about everywhere I go. The grocery store, convenience stores, the laundromat, and the gym. Satan sets traps for me everywhere I go. The traps he sets are different and range from testing my patience to blatant acts of disrespect and traps of lust. It is important to understand that Satan doesn’t want to be discovered. With that being said, he operates in secrecy. He works through mediums like music, movies, commercials, the internet, and people. Be aware that someone closest to you may be an agent of Satan. Satan is watching us all! Looking for whom he may devour. He has sought to devour me using embarrassment, humiliation, and other covert means. He wants to crush your spirit. He sends demons to study your every move. These demonic forces watch you very closely, looking for a sign of weakness. They seek to prey on your fears and can even attack you in your dreams. I experience a dream attack every night. Satan wants to plant seeds of fear and doubt in you. He operates outside of the perceptions of our conscious awareness. One of Satan’s favorite tactics is that of fear. We live in a fallen world. Society is not what it seems. Nothing is what it seems. Satan is not some horned red man with a cape and pitchfork. No! Satan will come to you as an angel of light, appearing to be something shiny and appealing. That shiny something is subjective and will vary from person to person. My experience with spiritual attacks was counterintuitive to everything I thought I knew about how the devil works. It’s not all fire and brimstone. It’s more of a subliminal nature. Satan is very cunning. He has thousands of years of experience under his belt. He is a master of human nature and the Word of God and takes no shortcuts in applying that knowledge to our destruction. But do not be dismayed; Satan is already a defeated foe. Take hope in the Most High God. I hope that by writing this book, I can not only free myself but others like me who are in darkness. The only way out of that darkness is Jesus, the light of the world.

Chapter 1: The Children of God

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are automatically enrolled in the kingdom of God. This is where everything begins. When we accept Jesus into our hearts, we are reborn and become new creations. The Most High God becomes your Heavenly Father. Accepting Jesus Christ not only saves your eternal soul, but it modifies your life here and now. The Most High God has wonderful plans for your life and future. It is written in the book of Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV): For I know the thoughts I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. We do not have to wait to get to heaven, we can experience heaven on earth. As children of God, we have a right to healing and prosperity. We also have a responsibility to rule,
