About this ebook
You may have selected this book because you’ve just lost someone close to you or you know someone who is terminally ill and you’re looking for answers, comfort, and reassurance. Death is an inevitable part of life, and I had this experience. Then I came back, and now I have to understand the meaning of what I experienced between worlds. Drawing on my professional experience in research and analysis as an adult, I spent over 40 years exploring various religious and paranormal beliefs, as well as scientific literature to answer the overwhelming experience of the world that I briefly visited. While everyone's experiences are unique, I hope that my story may offer some comfort and guidance to readers who may want reassurance of what’s to come.

Introduction
As individuals grow older, there seems to be a common inclination towards revealing their long-held secrets. They reach a stage where the significance of these secrets diminishes. However, not everyone follows this pattern, and the disclosure of secrets depends on whether revealing them would have a profound impact on others. Personally, I harbor a significant secret: I experienced death. But it's more than just that—I went somewhere and underwent an extraordinary journey. Now, as I've grown older, I believe it's time to share my story. This remarkable experience took place over 60 years ago.
Over time, I've come to realize that numerous individuals have encountered death and chosen to remain silent about it for various reasons. One prominent factor, I believe, is the fear of ridicule from friends and family, along with the concern that such disclosure could hinder their professional progress. Additionally, some people who have had near-death experiences undergo profound personality transformations and may exhibit unconventional behavior, which, to others, might resemble symptoms of schizophrenia. Naturally, no one desires to be associated with any form of mental illness. These are just a few compelling reasons why individuals with near-death experiences often opt for silence.
Throughout my life, I have served in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller, received an Honorable Discharge, and worked in the National Weather Service as a Pilot Briefer and Weather Radar Operator. I have issued numerous Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and local forecasts. Moreover, I graduated from college with distinction, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. The purpose of highlighting these accomplishments is to emphasize that my life has been characterized by employment that demanded sound decision-making skills.
Yet, despite my achievements, I experienced death during my childhood—an undeniably genuine encounter. It is an experience that each of us will eventually share. Considering this fact, what lies ahead in this narrative may hold great value for you. I strongly believe it will. In fact, it might be one of the most profound books you will ever have the opportunity to read.

Our Canal Cottage
To begin my story, it is crucial to furnish some contextual background about myself. I shall predominantly concentrate on my formative years during childhood, as this period encapsulates the occurrence of my near-death experience. In this section, I aim to vividly portray the setting of my life in the 1950s.
During my upbringing, our home was situated on a horseshoe-shaped canal on Lower Sylvan Lake in Oakland County, Michigan. Dredged in the late 1930s, the canal's development filled in swampy areas post-World War II. The resulting horseshoe shape created an island, unsuitable for development due to its swampy nature, making it an ideal wetlands habitat for various wildlife. Even today, access to the island is feasible only by boat, lacking a constructed bridge. The area was deemed borderline rural but nearly suburban.
Limited remnants of our former Sylvan Lake home, where my family lived for over two decades until 1970, are shown. In a particular backyard photograph, Sylvan Lake appears in the left distance, the canal in the center,
