The Role of Routine
One of the most hindering things in our lives is the inability to move forward. Many are stuck where they are, never able to advance, whether in their personal lives, ministries, marriages, spiritual life, or vocation. They seem to be caught in a rut or a spinning wheel that becomes mundane, boring or, as some would put it ‘routine.’
Typically, to break out of that routine and get off the wheel, there needs to be some serious changes and adjustments in our lives which often requires sincere prayer to our Lord, and a willingness to change and move forward in whatever He shows us to do. Many times, when we lock into the Lord and seek Him for His purposes, He is always faithful to show us the path we are to walk on to get us there, thus we go from ‘faith to faith’ and from ‘glory to glory’ (Romans 1:17; 2 Corinthians 3:18)

It will keep us refreshed and not prone to being stuck in an old wineskin, better described as an old system that keeps us in a state of ‘sameness.’
However, there are periods of sameness, or routine that can be very dangerous. Often, we grow discouraged or worst yet, bored. Boredom elevates us into all kinds of thinking that’s not always positive. It’s at these times when a marriage partner seeks excitement outside of their marriage to break up the monotony.
