About this ebook

Got a Minute, God? offers a starting point for young people to begin their prayer time, and it gives a person a quick connection to God during their busy day. Each prayer has two Bible verses confirming how much God loves us and wants to be part of our everyday life. These hundred prayers will help shape how a child thinks about God and connects to him. Young people will learn they can talk honestly to God about friends, parents, emotions, and many other things kids deal with. Praying these prayers will help get a good relationship with our Lord started at a young age.

    Rescue Prayer

God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him (1 John 4:9, NLT).

God, I’ve tried to be in control of my life, but I’ve come to realize that I’ll be much better off if I let you take control! You created me. You love me more than I can even imagine! You want only the best for me! I believe that you sent your son to earth for me. He came in the most ordinary way, not as a king like he should have, but as a baby, so he could totally understand what it is like to live like I do. He suffered more than I ever will. Then after he died, you brought your son, Jesus, back to life, simply because you want me to spend the rest of eternity with you! Wow! After all the rotten things I’ve said and done! Forgive me, Lord. I want to live the rest of my life for you. Take charge, Lord! I can pray this, because of the precious blood of Jesus! Amen.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16, NIV).

    Day 1

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:5, NIV).

Dear God, when you created me, you filled me with everything I’ll need for a successful life. Help me depend on you so I can become who you made me to be. Teach me to come to you every day and lean on you for every decision I make. I want to keep my eyes focused on you, Lord. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.

"But blessed is the one who trusts in the

    lord

, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit" (Jeremiah 17:7–8, NIV).

    Day 2

A tranquil heart is life to the body, but jealousy is rottenness to the bones (Proverbs 14:30, HCSB).

I look at the talents of others, and I feel like I don’t have any good talents. Forgive me, Father. You made me just the way I’m supposed to be. You don’t make mistakes. Help me to be happy with the way I am. Help me to keep my eyes on you and develop my skills and abilities so I become exactly who you planned for me to be! In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful (Colossians 3:15, NLT).

    Day 3

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19, ESV).

Thank you, Lord, that you never leave me or do wrong to me. Thank you that no matter if things in my life are going good or if they are really crummy, you are there and watching out for me. You’ll make sure that somehow, some way, it will work out for the best, even though I can’t figure out how! Just hold me, Lord. Help me trust you. Help me always depend
