INTRODUCTION

Have you ever noticed, if you want a little kid to do something, the best way to get them moving is to promise them something, even if it’s just a cookie, or a candy? We are hardwired to respond and act upon a promise, sometimes, no matter how small of a promise. We never grow out of this! In this book, I want to shed light on the ongoing battle between good and evil over all of us. It’s a battle of the promises of this world versus the promises of God. Thus, the title The Battle of the Hopes .

The Bible tells us that it is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance. Knowing that we are doing wrong is part of turning around, but continuously focusing on what we are doing wrong
