    About this ebook

    My book is a collection of poems that I have written since 1994. The first poem was “This Woman” (a poem that is dedicated to my mother). Since then, I have written inspirational poems that have been used for certain occasions such as weddings, funerals, and theatrical programs. It is entitled “My Voice” as a tribute to my life journey. First, I have always been teased and criticized for my high-pitched voice. Next, each of my poems is a message sent from heaven. Finally, I am very enthusiastic in the democratic system of government.

      This Woman: A Tribute to Deloris Russell

      There’s no other woman in this nation,

      Who can serve as a greater inspiration.

      On May 5, 1974, this woman gave birth

      And introduced me to the Earth.

      This woman has worked hard to succeed,

      And she has provided the members of her family

      with everything they need.

      This woman taught me the values of life

      And gave me the courage to overcome strife.

      This woman became a parent at seventeen years old,

      And she has a heart made of gold.

      This woman dedicates her life to helping others,

      This woman is my mother.

      I Fly

      I am a bird with wings,

      And I have the strength to overcome difficult
