Love: So That the Hearts of Many Will Be Revealed
()
About this ebook
Do you believe that "true Love" exists? If you have poured your heart out to someone who has hurt you, you probably would want to say you hope you could say yes; you want to believe that there is true Love, but you are more doubtful than hopeful. You might be a person who, in your brokenness, has vowed to "never again" open your heart to another. You might have chosen to live a life devoid of Love because you are afraid, and it is safer that way. Or perhaps you might be someone who is already too engulfed in the things that you want to pursue, and the last thing on your mind is Love. But whatever circumstance we might come from or find ourselves in, we cannot deny the fact that man is in need of Love; the need to love and the need to be loved are what truly make us human. The truth is that life is meaningless without "Love." This book is for those who want to know if true Love is in them and right in front of them and for those who are longing to know and be known personally and intimately by true Love. For those who seek for Truth, who have been at the end receiving of a lie, Love will unveil the hearts of many. For as it is written in the Word of God, what you have not been told, you will see, and what you have not heard, you will understand (Isaiah 52:15).

Acknowledgments
To Jeff, my answered prayer, the man God has given me to lead me to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, my best friend, and my beloved. I can’t thank you enough for encouraging me throughout the years as I poured out the passion in my heart in writing about the heart of God.
To my family, Papa, Mama, Michelle, and Gienah, for your love and support, even if we are halfway around the world from each other.
To my dear friends Karel, Herani, Kaneshia, Ofelia, Theresia, Lisa, Henry, Jim, and Cindy for your friendship, encouragement, and sharing your hearts with me.
I can’t thank you all enough.
And most importantly, I am grateful to God the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, my first Love, for being my all in all! You alone are worthy to receive all the glory, honor, and power, forever and ever in Jesus name! Amen.
The Truth in the Holy Scripture is Jesus Christ—the Word of God, God in the flesh. Thus, I will use the capitalized form of the words Truth and Love as nouns to describe a person, the person of Jesus Christ. On the other hand, I will use the non-capitalized form of the words truth and love as verbs.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
—1 Corinthians 13:8–13
About This Book
This book came from a heart in love with the One who loved her first.
Never even in my wildest dreams would I have dared to think of writing a book. I’m not a writer by profession, and English is not my native language. I was born and raised in the Philippines. I came to Atlanta, Georgia, USA, in 2006.
In 2010, I found myself alone, weary, and afraid. There had been many times I have felt this way before. But this time, it was different. This time, I had truly come to the end of myself. I was undone.
I was on my knees, crying out to nobody or so I thought, as the words came out from my mouth: If you are real God, tell me what Truth is! And tell me what Love is!
I was tired of people telling me they love me
but didn’t have the character to prove otherwise. I realized that the very thing I could not stand others doing to me, I did myself. I had major trust issues. I had cried countless times because of heartbreaks, failures, shame, guilt, and condemnation. Perfectionism, rejection, pride, and unforgiveness had become my daily companions and the reasons for the sadness in my life. I was hopeless. But God saw me when nobody could. He met me where nobody would. He revealed Truth and Love to me. He made me see and freed me from my oppression. He called me to life and made me breathe. I was never the same.
I died to my old self. I came to the end of not trusting in myself. God has given me, through the blood of Jesus Christ, security, satisfaction, significance, and purpose beyond what I could ever do and will ever do on my own. I’ve experienced the greatest love of all. A person like me who is difficult to love has been truly loved and is being loved and being renewed day after day, not because I deserve it, but because God, in His greatness, was and is willing to love a liability like me.
God has given me a burning passion for Him—His Truth and Love.
So I write for freedom! For this I am called to.
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery" (Galatians 5:1).
Introduction
Do you believe in Love? And if so, what is Love? What does it look like? What are you to expect when you have true Love? How do you know that you are genuinely in Love
? Why do most people fear to fall in love? These questions seek to answer the very nature of what it is to be human. We examine our thoughts and draw on our past experiences to find answers to our questions. We look to others for answers. Or should we? These are indeed weighty issues that compel us to not only seek answers from one another but also to look up to someone whose ways and thoughts are much higher than our own (Isaiah 55:8–9). We are free to choose what’s set before us. But we are not free from bearing the consequences of our choices. In the aftermath of making wrong choices, we encounter dreadful moments that instill shame, guilt, and condemnation in our hearts, so we must choose wisely.
We are relational beings, created and given life for a purpose, with a high calling—for true Love. But why is it that we keep on failing in being relational?
Either willingly or unwillingly, we get hurt and hurt others over and over again.
We are created to be the image bearers of God. But there was a day when humanity chose to go against the very will of the One who had created them. Ever since, we have found ourselves in a constant battle with the absolute; we strive for perfection but never seem to achieve it. We want what is good but seem to choose what is evil, again and again. We admire selflessness, but it is easier said than done. We want to be with someone to share our life with, but oftentimes, we end up either taking more or being marginalized and losing ourselves rather than having healthy relationships. In the human heart, there is the reality of a divided kingdom at war between good and evil. It is unkind, ruthless, dangerous, and unforgiving.
In this book, we will look for answers to the questions mentioned above from the very Word of God, which is true, absolute, and everlasting. This book is intended to reveal Love, so that many hearts can choose what is good and true. This is for those
