About this ebook

You may be a daily bible reader or this could be the first time you have had bible verses in your hands. In either case you could begin the reading of this little book with the word abundance and end with the words from Obadiah. However, my suggestion is, go to the index and ask the Lord to point out the word He would have you read about first! He created us, He loves us, He intimately knows our needs,(whether you believe it or not) and He knows the questions we have and the answers we need better than we do! In our current world situation seeking the truth is becoming more and more important and knowing what the Bible says about things is a major step toward that truth! The Lord gave me these key words and chose these specific scriptures for each one from the many scriptures available! Enjoy the search for a small portion of the wisdom and knowledge of the Bible made a good bit easier to find!

    About Pastor Don Shelby

    Dedication and Acknowledgment

I want to dedicate this book to my dear friend, Gene Wilkerson. Gene has gone home to be with the Lord. He truly was one of the Lord's disciples and a man of deep passion for the Word of God! I also want to graciously thank his wife, Rosemary, for her valuable thoughts and suggestions and the many, many hours she spent on her computer editing this for me!

The sum total of all Your words adds up to absolute truth, and every one of Your righteous decrees is everlasting.

    —Psalm 119:160 TPT

    Just a Thought!

These are the days of many words! We see many words. We read many words, and we hear and speak many words. In our constant use of words, we sometimes see, hear, or even speak words that have lost some of their meaning. Over the many years of being used by people in all sorts of circumstances, some words have lost their original definition and intent and, consequently, a portion of their value. The words believe, love, humility, always, never, and truth could be a few examples. A dictionary usually comes to mind when we want the actual definition of a word. However, think of the Bible scripture in the book of Matthew 12:37, where Jesus said, For by your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned. Wow! That means we can not only consider Scripture the best source of actual definitions and meaning; we can also consider it to be our very best source of truth not only for our words but also for our hearts and minds!

You may be a daily Bible reader, or this could be the first time you have had Bible verses in your hands. In either case, you could begin reading this little book with the word abundance and end with the words from Obadiah. However, my suggestion is go to the index and ask the Lord to point out the word that He would have you read about first. He created us! He loves us! He intimately knows our needs (whether you believe it or not)! And He knows the questions we have and the answers we need better than we do. In our current world situation, seeking the truth is becoming more and more important, and knowing what the Bible says about things is a major step toward that truth. The Lord gave me these key words and helped me chose these specific scriptures for each one from the many scriptures available. So enjoy your search for a small portion of the wisdom and knowledge found in the Bible just made a lot easier to find.

    Blessings to you, friend! Don

Did you ask the Lord which word to start with?

A Few Bible Verses about the Following Words:

    Abundantly

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly ABUNDANTLY above all we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20–21)

But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us ABUNDANTLY through Jesus Christ our Savior. (Titus 3:4–6)

Jesus said: "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more ABUNDANTLY." (John 10:10)

Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in ABUNDANCE. (Isaiah 55:2)

Jesus said: Brood of vipers! How can you being evil, speak good things? For out of the ABUNDANCE of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you, that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgement. For by your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned. (Matthew 12:34–37)

And He said to them, "Take heed and beware of covetousness—having a craving for possessions—for one's life does not consist in the ABUNDANCE of the things he possesses." (Luke 12:15)

Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the church of Macedonia; that in a great trial of affliction the ABUNDANCE of their joy and their deep poverty ABOUNDED in the riches of their liberality. (2 Corinthians 8:1–2)

So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their ABUNDANCE, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood! (Mark 12:43–44)

How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore, the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are ABUNDANTLY satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light, we see light. (Psalms 36:7–9)

Thus God, determining to show more ABUNDANTLY to the heirs of promise the immutability—certainty—of His council, confirmed it with an oath. (Hebrews 6:17)

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you ABUNDANTLY into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:5–11)

    Amen! Amen!
