A Life Recipe
One part peace for all who exist;
Equal portions of love for one another;
One part understanding each who are individual;
One part care for those in need;
One part acceptance for each individual;
Two parts wisdom for those who exist;
Two parts give and take, mix in three portions
Of sharing life together for those who fall in love with one another;
Two parts open mind, add four portions tolerance
For life comes in individual packages;
Two parts genuine charity for those in need;
Two portions open mind for each individual human being;
Three parts harmony. Travel through nature with respect, love, and acceptance;
Three parts music, add needed portions for a restless heart;
Three parts memory, clarity, insight, and fondness for what came before;
Three parts desire, add needed courage for what will come next and in the future;
Three portions strength, add judgment as needed in individual endeavors;
Four parts caring for each new friend gathered;
Four parts love for each family member;
Four parts sharing time with one another;
Four parts daring for each challenge encountered;
Four portions rest to keep one from growing too
weary on each individual path in life;
Five parts time to consider the wildflowers in spring,
The warmth of summer’s own time,
The beauty of nature as fall comes in,
The silence of winter’s snowy-white blanket;
Add in one portion remembering to treasure
each set of seasons one is given in life;
Six parts time as follows; time is the most precious
Of gifts given to man, use well and wisely;
Six parts wisdom to guide one’s usage of time;
Six parts enjoyment to fill one’s time with one another;
Six parts fellowship to spend one’s time on;
Six parts of challenge in one’s own time;
Six portions of remembering to also treasure the time
Each individual life is given.
Now and Then
Memories seem to circle around wishing wells;
Hopes and dreams stop at a safe distance;
Cares and woes come differently;
To wishing wells,
What do I and whimsy
Wish for today?
We’ve stopped at this old wishing well
So many times before;
Whimsy and curiosity,
Joy and enlightenment
Have all come;
Now and then,
Memory looks at old pictures,
Tries to fill in lost details;
The house and garden
Boarded up in one’s mind’s eye;
It’s a house of love and happiness though;
Whimsy has caught itself up in
It’s desire to chase those invisible
Butterflies once again;
Long walks and silent talks,
Remember every step of one’s journey
Through life;
Adventure still bold;
Goals
Still elusive and timely;
Now and then,
Harmony and truth
Always there when needed;
True friendship
Never too far away;
Back around the wishing well,
Has innocence remembered
How to play?
And love,
Love tends the heart; love protects the start;
Love sits atop every wishing well; love can never run out;
Time can never stop:
Now on the way home,
Now where did whimsy
