Godś will be done.  I think that we all want the will of God to be done.  Sometimes we hear that it is God's will but aren't sure. A lot of people have the attitude that if it is God's will, it will be done.  If it isn't God's will it won't be done. Then there are many who pray ¨ if it be thy will¨.  In this book, we will go through many examples of things that were God's will but didn't come to pass.  Why it didn't come to pass and what God had to do to make it come to pass.   God has given all mankind, saved and unsaved free will; itś up to each individual to use it for God's will be done.

FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT

It's always good to start at the beginning. Gen 1:1 darby  In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

2. Now the earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep. God's Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters.

3. God said, `Let there be light,` and there was light.

So we have the heavens and the earth formless and filled with darkness. God looked at this darkness and didn't like it.  Being all wise and all knowing, God knew what to do.  This is the first principle in knowing the will of God. You must know it.  Time and time again God tells us His will but we fail to believe it. We just pass it by.  Meditation on God's word is the way to know His will. It gets from our brain down into our spirit.  So the first step is God knew that light would be the answer to the problem of darkness. The second thing that God did was to believe that Light was the answer .  We too must not only know the answer but believe.  When we really believe, we won't be double minded.  James 1:6 darby. But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed.

7. For let that man not think that he will receive anything from the Lord.

8. He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Double minded is what most Christian are.  They say that they believe and then say just the opposite.  Then there is the supposedly humble phrase, thy will be done or "if it be thy will¨.  Believing God's will is being humble.  Itś saying to God that He is God, in whom nothing is impossible.  His ways are higher than our way.  Isaiah 55: 6.6. Seek Yahweh while he may be found; call you on him while he is near:

7. let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to Yahweh, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

8. `For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,` says Yahweh.

9. `For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

God says the wicked won't believe His word.  It is hard to believe but when we humble ourselves and really seek His will in His word, He will reveal Himself and His will to us.

So we covered Know and believe.  The third thing that God did is that He spoke ¨ light be¨.  I like the word ¨declare¨ instead of spoke.  It has more power to it.  These three things we need to do: know, believe, and declare.

How did God declare?  It says that God created.  God is three in one: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  The Father produces the seed - Light. Now the Son is the word, so the Son declares the Word.  In this case the Word is "light be¨.  So now we have all three elements of Faith that we need to do to make Godś will be done.  Yet there still is one more thing left to do.  Genesis 1:2 And the earth was waste and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.  The Holy Spirit was waiting for the word to be declared. Now God, the Holy Spirit can do His(Her) part. The Holy Spirits part is to bring life or quicken the word spoken in faith.  John 6:63 web  It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.  The word light bewas spoken and the Holy Spirit gave life to it. Light went from the unseen to the seen.  Light went from the supernatural to the natural.  Remember one of the titles of Jesus is that He is ¨the Light of the world¨.  Plus, God loves light so much
