Meditations Part 1
You have inherent value and purpose in life.
Don’t let the disturbance of the past interfere with your present and future.
Today is a new day, as are all days.
Commit to truth, growth and connections.
See your life changing day by day.
It’s your only life here, make it worth it.
Realize this once and for all, this is your perception looking through the lens of addiction.
This is not your only lens available.
This is not the only reality you can perceive.
You are now on this crossroad.
And addiction lures you in with all its fake promises — but you’ve realized today, that life is short, that it is time to wake up.
"Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not;
Remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for."
Epicurus
One of the most important things when it comes to recovery from addiction is to no longer define yourself (solely) as an addict. The thought, or even worse, the belief I am an addict, is creating your life experience. We follow our I am statements blindly. And thus you become stuck in the rhythm of that statement.
So be very careful with what you follow your I am statements...
If you are an addict, that’s what you will return to over and over and over again. The best thing you can do from now is to never ever again refer to yourself as an addict.
"A man who goes to the bar, or a man who goes to the church or a temple, they’re seeking the same thing...
They’re trying to enhance their life."
Sadhguru
"At the center of your being you have the answer;
you know who you are
and you know what you want."
Lao Tzu
Adding more similar actions to this downward spiral results in more of the same outcome. More stress, more loneliness, more frustration, more emotional pain. Most importantly with each day added to this addiction habit, you are moving away
