I bought this one because I won her TNG version. She is a great artist. This is a great little stocking stuffer type book for the Trekkie in your life.

Illustrator Jenny Parks has created a must have for Star Trek fans (the original of course!). The little book features a variety of cats portraying the various characters from the original Star Trek, including James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock. Each page gives a take the iconic characters and scenes from the series—from Kirk in the Captain's chair to Spock offering his Vulcan wisdom and Scotty trying to get the engines to function. The illustrations in this little book are wonderful—my favorite is the Scottish fold cat as Scotty the engineer. I think this is a must for Trekkie fans and those who may want to share with their soon to be Trekkie children. 3 out of 5 stars.

Ok, I'm not a cat person, but I do like Star Trek. And I thought this book was great! The author did a great job with the personalities of the actors and making them cats. If you need a quick chuckle or two, pick this book up!

Star Treks cats aren’t ordinary cats. They don’t chase mice; they chase Klingons. Seriously, if the Star Trek cast were cats instead of humans, this is what they would look like. The Captain looks rather arrogant and is definitely in charge. But the Vulcan cat looks like he really does know everything, but is aloof and perhaps a bit bored. A well thought-out and decidedly attractive marriage between cats and Star Trek.

This short 64-page book has familiar scenes from Star Trek™ with cats replacing the human characters from the late 1960’s show. The drawings are clear, detailed and distinctly portray Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Bones, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu, and Chekov. This was... odd. I'm not sure what I was expecting -- maybe something cutesy? -- but it was legitimately just Star Trek Cats. Illustrations of cats reenacting famous scenes from Star Trek: The Original Series. But hey, they're excellent illustrations! Especially Spock!Cat and Kirk!Cat. I don't even know how to rate this. I don't know why it exists, but it does what it does really well?

With a book called Star Trek Cats, you have a pretty good idea what the book is about. What surprised me was how amazing the drawings were! Every page was awesome. Realistic looking cats in recognizable scenes from classic Star Trek episodes. This book is a delight for fans of cats or fans of Star Trek, and a double delight for fans of both. Highly recommended.I was fortunate to receive a copy of this book from the publisher.

Cute book, but would be better if the cats were photographed instead of drawn. Staging particular episodes was a fun idea. The breeds of cats chosen for each classic trek actor was dead on.

The author took great pains to match the major Star Trek characters to cat breeds that match their ethnicity or looks. I don't know much about cat breeds except to recognize the Scottish breed that represents Scotty. Kirk seems to be a regular tom cat (pun intended?) Spock is represented by a breed with amazingly tall ears.Each page or pair of pages is a scene taken from an episode of the series and fans should have no difficulty identifying it. I had problems with one - on pages 34-35 from episode "Amok Time". It just didn't ring a bell with me.The one that cracked me up was the cat on the transporter pad pawing the sprinkles one sees when it is energized.It obviously doesn't take very long to page through this little book but I had a smile on my face the whole time.

Jenny Parks' Star Trek Cats features illustrations from the author reimagining scenes from seventeen episodes of the original Star Trek with cats. The episodes come from the first two seasons and the pilot, with a few scenes appearing across multiple pages. Parks' illustrations are gorgeous and each would be lovely gracing the wall of a fan of both Star Trek and cats. The attention to detail, both to the cats' appearance and behavior and to the visual aesthetic of Star Trek, is simply stunning and far better than one would expect from a novelty book of this sort. Star Trek Cats will delight fans of both of the titular subjects and makes for a lovely gift book!

A little hardcover, a bit larger but not as thick as a board book. I thought this was going to be disappointing after I received it, because it seemed to have very little substance. Surprisingly, it was pretty entertaining and gave me a few chuckles, being a Trekkie myself. 17 episodes of the original series are eluded to, and I found myself appreciating the little frissons of recognition, from cats holding tribbles to Amok Time and City on the Edge of Forever. Very cute and sure to be a nice little surprise for the Trekkie in your life, especially if they like cats and can appreciated the cat behaviors exhibited. (Just before I read it a neighbor dropped in, saw it, and exclaimed that it was the very thing for Father's Day for her husband - they're both fans of Star Trek and cats. So this copy will have a good home.)

What if the Enterprise were crewed by cats? Now you can find out. Several scenes from popular Star Trek episodes are illustrated with cats as the main characters. The illustrations are very well done. A cute gift for cat lovers and trekkies. I enjoyed the scenes, but was kind of expecting a short continuous story line.
