    A Note from the Author

    __________________________________________________

Life has a way of challenging us. Amid all the changes we face daily, it’s refreshing to remember Hebrews 13:8 (NIV) that Jesus is our constant—the same yesterday and today and forever.

What a reassuring message! Even with the beginning of a new journey, spiritual, mental, or emotional. Whether it’s a new chapter of life, or not, Jesus never changes. He is the same good and loving Savior who walked among us two thousand years ago and still offers us comfort, guidance, and hope during every season of life.

May the uplifting devotions in A Spiritual Journey through Devotionals help you realize that Jesus is the anchor to your soul—the very One who secures for you the eternal hope of heaven and steadies you when the world is on shaky ground. Take comfort from the warmth and candor provided through these beautiful devotionals written to help you on your spiritual journey as you discover the importance of change while leaning on the One who never changes.

I pray and hope each one will fill you with an overwhelming sense of peace and confidence as you tackle the changes that may come your way. I am certain they will remind you that you are never alone and that Jesus will never fail or desert you. After all, he is a steadfast companion, loyal and true, the same yesterday and today and forever.

God Can Make It Worth the Risk

    Daily Reading: Ruth 1:1–22

Bible Thought: The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him (Lamentations 3:25 NKJV).

When God asks us to sacrifice our immediate security and comfort for the well-being of another person, even someone close to us, it is sometimes difficult to comply. We see only the present, but we want to know the future and to be sure that things will work out. There are times that God will ask you to take the risk because in the end, it will be worth it for you. Sometimes the risk, however, is great.

The Old Testament tells of two sisters-in-law, Ruth and Orpah, who are widowed and left with their aging mother-in-law, Naomi. Their only hope for the future is to remarry, and since Naomi is too old to find a husband, she begs them to return to their own families. Orpah returns home, but Ruth knows she is Naomi’s only hope. If she remarries, she can provide Naomi with a home, family, and security in old age. If she returns to Judah with Naomi, she will be a penniless widow in a foreign land—not exactly marriageable material. There were no guarantees in this situation, and yet Ruth vows to Naomi to remain with her regardless. Ruth took a risk, and it paid off. When we doubt God’s purpose in our lives, we can remember his faithfulness to Ruth and her vow. God has proven himself to be faithful and true.

Take the risk today and give Jesus a chance to make a difference in your life.

    Personal Meditations

    Prayer

Stay in the Place of God’s Glory

Daily Reading: Luke 15:11–32; Ephesians 1:3–20

Bible Thought: Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you (Jeremiah 3:14).

We as believers in Christ have everything. All the Father has, he has given to us as heirs. God has blessed us according to 2 Peter 1:3with all spiritual blessings and things that pertain unto life and godliness in Christ Jesus. You are blessed, healed, strengthen, freed, and loosed by the power of God. All you need to do is trust God. Everything God has is ours if we stay in the place of blessings. Life can lead you from the place of blessings, as it did in the story of the Prodigal Son. God told Moses to keep walking until he showed him the place of his glory.

Beloved, the only way the enemy can get to you is that you have come out of your place of blessings and glory. You gain nothing if you leave from under God’s umbrella of safety. God can protect you when you remain in the place of His blessings and glory. Life can also create incidents that will make you refer to God. It is something about being in God’s place that makes his provisions more meaningful. Stay in the place
