    Special thanks…

To my husband of thirty-nine wonderful years of marriage, Apostle James E. White. You have been my greatest supporter. You have encouraged me and tended to me as you would a well-watered garden. Thank you for giving me the space to grow. Thank you for our years together.

To chief apostle of the Agape Christian Fellowship International, Evelyn Robinson and Elder Willie Wright. Both of you have been great supporters. I thank you for our discussions that brought a new light to marriage and its spiritual aspects. You both opened my eyes to see marriage differently and have changed my approach as we counsel others.

To our Friday night marriage group with James and Tanya Brown and Michael and Yvonne McNealy. I appreciate all the discussions that caused us all to see greater ways to improve our marriages and to show our love to our spouses. There is an unending appreciation for God who brought us together as couples and friends and allowed us to cover issues that encouraged the writing of this book. I see God's purpose and plan for His kingdom in both of these couples.

Most importantly I thank You, God. You have provided the platform, for the last twenty-nine years, for both me and my husband to continue learning about ourselves and our marriage as You gave us the words and insight to counsel those entering into marriage and those who were trying to repair their marriage. I thank You, God, for giving me the words to pin and the topics to address in every assignment given. I am so appreciative to be used in any capacity in your kingdom.

Every marriage is an experience with pitfalls, mountains, and glorious and peaceful gardens by a lake. The reality is that marriage is a journey that should not be taken lightly. It has ups and downs, times of happiness, sadness, excitement, and frustrations. The person that you decide to take this journey with should be prayerfully chosen. It is beautiful yet can cause you to experience a variety of emotions. I chose to take this journey, thirty-nine years ago, with the person I believe God choose for me. Ten years into our marriage, we were drawn into the ministry of marriage. We spoke at marriage conferences, performed counseling for engaged couples, and conducted sessions with couples to help repair their marriages.

As we continue our own personal journey of marriage, while helping others on their journeys, we have continued to learn more each day about what God's plan is for each of us. We have continued to learn as we
