I’m can’t believe you’re late again, my co-worker Janice says as I arrive for my job as receptionist at the village GP surgery. That’s the third time this week. You do know you’re still on probation, don’t you?

I pull a face. I knew I should have taken that hairdressing apprenticeship rather than come and work here. Janice is a real moaner, and having only left college a month ago, I’m really not so sure that I’m ready for work in the healthcare field if everyone is this miserable.
