    Live in God

    The Divine Invitation

    Introduction

One of the most important questions in the Bible and one of the deepest aspirations of humans is to live in God. God has wanted fellowship with humans since the beginning of Scripture and invites us to live in harmony with Him. This divine invitation has a lot of meaning and purpose, and accepting it leads to spiritual change and a deeper relationship with our Creator.

Since the book of Genesis, we see God creating man and woman in His image and likeness, for the purpose of having fellowship with Him and caring for His creation. And God created man in his own image; in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27). In that initial moment, God laid the foundation for us to live in communion with Him, enjoying His presence and fulfilling the purpose for which we were created.

However, sin entered the world through the disobedience of Adam and Eve, breaking perfect fellowship with God. The Bible is an account of how God, in His love and mercy, seeks to restore relationship with humanity and invites each individual to live in harmony with Him again.

In the book of Isaiah, we find a promise from God that He will dwell with those who have a contrite and humble heart: For thus says the High and Lofty, who dwells forever, whose name is Holy: In a high and holy place, with him of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite. (Isaiah 57:15).

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, also reinforced this divine invitation to live in God. In John 15:4-5, He said, Abide in me, and I in you. As a branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit; for without me you can do nothing.

This analogy of the vine and the branches illustrates the importance of remaining in fellowship with Christ so that we can bear fruit and live in God. It is through Jesus that we are reconciled to the Father and receive the gift of eternal life. He is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6), and no one comes to the Father except through Him.

Furthermore, the Bible emphasizes the need for complete surrender to God in order to live in His presence. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will do it. (Psalm 37:5). Committing our way to God means trusting fully in His plan and purpose for our lives, submitting ourselves to His will and seeking His direction in all areas.

The book of Proverbs also encourages us to trust in God rather than relying on our own wisdom or limited understanding: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Living in God is a daily choice that requires commitment, dedication and constant search for His presence. Through prayer, reading the Word, worship and obedience to his commandments, we are strengthened and empowered by the Holy Spirit to live a life in tune with the divine will.

This life in God also leads us to live according to the values of the Kingdom of God, seeking to love our neighbor, serve others and share the gospel of Christ's love and grace with the world. In Matthew 5:16, Jesus exhorts us, Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

The main purpose of our creation was to live in God. The Bible gives us the divine invitation to reestablish communion with our Creator, through Jesus Christ. You must live a life of purpose, meaning, direction, love and service to God. It is a spiritual shift, a commitment to his will and a constant search for his presence. May we respond to that divine invitation by living in God every day of our lives, experiencing His grace, peace, and fullness in every moment of our lives.

    What is God?

In the beginning, before the creation of the heavens and the earth, there was God. He is the source of all existence, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. In the Bible, we find several passages that provide us with a comprehensive view of what God is and his characteristics. Let's explore these holy scriptures in an educational way to better understand the divine character.

The first step in understanding who God is is to recognize that He is the Creator of all things. In the book of Genesis, in chapter 1, we read: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). He spoke, and all things came into existence - the light, the sky, the earth, the seas and all life forms. God is the origin of everything we see around us and what is beyond our comprehension.

The Bible reveals to us that God is a personal being, endowed with characteristics and attributes that make him unique. In the book of Exodus, God reveals to Moses his name: I am who I am (Exodus 3:14). That name describes His eternal nature, His existence and sufficiency. God does not depend on anything or anyone to exist; He simply is.

Another essential characteristic of God is His unconditional love and mercy. In John 3:16, we find an iconic passage that says, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This passage reveals God's ultimate sacrifice - sending His own Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and offering us salvation through faith in Him.

In addition to love, the Bible also tells us about the holiness of God. In the book of Isaiah, the prophet had a vision of the majesty of God in heaven, surrounded by seraphim who cried out, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory! (Isaiah 6:3). God's holiness represents His purity and separation from sin. He is totally just and perfect in all of his actions and decisions.

Throughout the Bible, we see God revealing Himself through various names that express different aspects of His nature. He is Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord who provides; Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals; Jehovah-Shalom, the Lord of peace; and many others. These names show us that God cares about every aspect of our lives and that we can trust Him for our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Another important aspect about God is His omnipresence - He is present everywhere at the same time. In the book of Psalms, Psalm 139 reminds us of this truth: Where can I go from your spirit, or where can I flee from your face? (Psalm 139:7). No matter where we are, God is with us, accompanying us every step of the way.

Likewise, the Bible teaches us that God is omniscient, that is, He knows all things. In 1 John 3:20, it is written: For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart and knows all things. God knows our thoughts, our deepest desires and even our weaknesses. This divine wisdom gives us comfort, knowing that we have a heavenly Father who understands us perfectly.

Another notable characteristic of God is His omnipotence - He is all-powerful. In the book of Jeremiah, we find the following statement: Ah, Lord God! Behold, you made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm; there is nothing too hard for you (Jeremiah 32:17 ). God is able to accomplish things impossible in human eyes, and his power is manifested in all of creation and in human history.

God's character is also shaped by His faithfulness and justice. The book of Deuteronomy says, Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and mercy to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments (Deuteronomy 7:9). God is faithful to his promises and principles, and his justice prevails in all circumstances.

Although God is incomprehensible in His entirety, the Bible gives us insights into who He is and how we can relate to Him. We can draw closer to Him through prayer, study of the Word, and worship, always seeking a deeper connection with the Creator of all.

The Creator of the universe is God, a human being who is holy and just, omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. His multifaceted character and his closeness to us are revealed by his names. We should strive to better know and understand Him, for despite His greatness, He longs for an intimate, personal relationship with us. May we always seek his face and follow his commandments, receiving his unconditional love and resting in his loving arms.

(John 15:4) His delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by streams of water, which in due season brings forth its fruit, and whose foliage does not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. (Psalm 1:2-3) Living in God is essential for spiritual
