Lucy? What’s wrong?

The concerned tone of my boss cuts through my misery and I straighten up, hastily brushing at my wet cheeks. Nothing’s wrong, sir.

I told you before, Lucy, he says, coming to perch on the edge of my desk and running an impatient hand through his dark wavy hair. "You don’t need to call me sir."
