The summer of 2021 marked a before and after in my life. It was, as they say, a turning point. But, first of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Carmen, I live in a province in the interior of Spain and I am 51 years old. I got married as soon as I finished my studies in Mathematics, because my boyfriend was a man nine years older than me and already had a house and a job. I immediately began to make substitutions in grouped classrooms and rural schools, and four years later I passed the opposition. I was married for twenty-three years and I have two children from that marriage: Emilio, twenty-one, and Santiago, eighteen.

Although I was a shameful and somewhat conceited young woman, the vicissitudes of life have transformed me into an open, resolute and uninhibited woman, and since my children are already on their own, I have plenty of time for myself.
