It was a summer internship after my junior year of college. For a lot of people, it was a dream. I was going to be working for a major video game developer. Aphelia had produced Deathbringer, one of my favorite games of all time. My interview had been with Dave Jurgens, a pleasant man who made me feel completely at ease. It wasn’t until my first day that I heard about The Beast.

Norah McBride was the head of the department I was working in, and people nicknamed her The Beast. It was joked about on the first day I had come in to work, some guys who I was assisting mentioned her to me and told me to be careful.

Is she mean to interns? I asked.
