Our journey didn’t start out very well on the first day, and it would be many more days before it would start to improve for me. But, as they say, “When God shows up, He shows out,” and He sure did in my case. People that knows what happened to me, believes and says that, “I am a walking miracle.” I also know and believe this too. God allowed us to go through this journey of a lifetime to make us lean and to trust in Him more and each other. God also let us know that He can do anything as long as it is in His will and in His plan, and we keep our faith in Him.

Mildred M. Davis is an inspirational and motivational speaker, artist, writer, and published author. Founder of Mildred’s Inspirations. She is also a proud wife, mother, and nana. She did a course of study in Teacher’s Aide and Dressmaking and Design receiving a diploma in each, from (International Correspondence Schools) ICS Learn. Mildred and her husband Charles live in Hephzibah, Georgia, and have three children and four granddaughters. She has two brothers and four sisters, all of whom live in North Carolina. The Author and Finisher of Our Faith is Mildred’s fourth published book.

I know without you, Lord, and those who prayed for us, we wouldn’t have made it through. Here you will be reminded and reassured that faith in God with prayer (hallelujah!) still works! You will receive, while reading this book, blessings upon blessings. You may become sad, but as you continue to read you will see the other side of your circumstances (thank God!), which are joyfulness, deliverance, and praise. You will have so much to be thankful to the Lord Jesus for. Hallelujah, and thank You, Jesus!

In this book, each reader will realize that you are truly blessed, no matter the circumstances. You can rejoice in knowing Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5) After reading this book you will know without any doubt that miracles truly do happen. You will have faith in God and believe that He will bring you through anything. You will feel joy and peace beyond measure that this world won’t understand. Just know you are never alone, and God will always bring you through. INTRODUCTION

GOD’S GUIDANCE AND

GUIDING HAND

Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning, for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

—Psalm 143:8

First, I want to thank God for His guidance and guiding hand during the journey of a lifetime. He carried us in the right direction when we traveled in the midst of the storm. Since we first started, many obstacles were thrown in our direction. The Lord Jesus Christ was there to help bring us through. He knew we would face many challenges. No matter what it looked like or even felt like, God had already worked it all out for our good from the beginning to the very end.

Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, my counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure. (Isaiah 46:10)

Together with God’s guidance and guiding hand, we had faith that we would come out victorious on the other side, because it was in His plan. Always remember that God doesn’t allow us to go through any journey, or anything for that matter, without having a good reason for allowing it to happen. No matter what we may face in life, He gives us all the strength we need to endure the adversities that have been placed before us. God told us He would be there every step of the way if we would have faith and let Him. The safest place to be is in God’s will and His plan.

Jesus sent His angels along the way to guard and protect us. Even more, He dispatched them to carry out His divine assignment. When we do our part, then God does His. Be assured that we shall come out together on the other side as one mind, one body, and one spirit, because He has already equipped us for this journey that lies ahead.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise Him. The Lord is their strength, and He is the saving strength of His anointed. (Psalm 28:7–8)

Medical terms and treatments were taken from documentations. Definitions (as provided in the glossary) were taken from online sources. The names of hospitals and facilities where I received medical care, and their personnel, are not given except for one, because they gave me permission to do so.

To be able to give you the full story of everything that happened to me, I used a lot of medical terms and procedures. I have included definitions for as many as possible, which has given me more clarification as well. They are located in alphabetical order in the glossary, which follows.
