      Dedication

      When Grandpa and I married, we bought a five bedroom home in St. Charles, Missouri. We cherished our mealtimes spent as a family. Unfortunately, we were often interrupted by activities that pulled the kids in several different directions, but we were so thrilled to have all four children under one roof.

      There was activity going in and out of our home. Sometimes arguing occurred, however, there were lots of laughs. We first learned to like each other, then over the years it turned to love. To merge two households together is never easy, no matter what you are told.

      During that time, I felt a quirky desire to draw a caricature, then another, then another. Soon there were enough pictures so it was called a coloring book. Those are the pictures made in 1995 when we all lived together.

      It was not until Stephanie showed me the coloring book in 2019 that the remembrance of the creation occurred. Thus, the poems were written in 2020 and 2021 to match each picture in the Grandma’s Poems book. The pictures and poems were made about 25 years apart.

      Little did Grandpa and I know that the day we met in December of 1991, that we would merge four apprehensive children into a family that created eleven wonderful grandchildren.

      Words cannot express how richly and abundantly we have been blessed. We thank your parents and our special Bonus Mom, each of whom utilized their unique personalities, gifts, and character traits to foster an environment of love, kindness, and encouragement that has made you who you are today.
